We are looking for a dynamic Vice President fo our Proposal Team to manage a highly strategic, value-oriented, high-volume proposal organization at the enterprise level. You will manage the proposal group; assist in reviewing, editing, and writing content; and be responsible for the overall flow and delivery for proposal responses. We are looking for new and creative approaches to how this team functions. Our goal is to propel annual double-digit growth in the new decade, building on our $1.48B in 2019 revenues and $1.52B in 2019 sales. What you will be doing..

  • Ensure all corporate responses are completed on time to the highest possible quality and contributing to the increasing success of the organization

  • Develop and maintain standardized corporate materials to maximize the efficiency of bid writing

  • Develop, manage and maintain a metrics program for proposals

  • Effectively manage workload in a way that allows the team to manage multiple ongoing pursuits while still providing the necessary focus and leadership to implement a winning strategy

  • Actively manage staff and work to develop and grow capabilities over time

  • Work closely with the corporate Learning and Development team to contribute to training efforts that support broader organization development specific to proposal preparation

  • Support the development of winning Marketing campaign strategies designed to influence pursuit outcomes

What you will need.

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 15+ years' consulting experience

  • Training in best-in-class proposal and capture techniques - preferably at firms with multi-billion-dollars in annual revenue and sales

  • Experience in the federal, state & local, and commercial realms, comfortable supporting pursuits of a multi-disciplinary nature across multiple types of businesses

  • Expertise in the federal arena, with experience working across the federal civilian space, including recent experience supporting pursuits that involve less-traditional, more agile, more interactive procurement methods and submittals (e.g., proof-of-concept, coding challenges, incentive prizes, or other contests; oral pitches, video presentations, or digital deliverables)

  • Critical thinker who gathers and analyzes information from a variety of sources and can synthesize the data and produce well-composed work products that need little rework

  • Multidisciplinary subject matter expert, comfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Effectively plans and manages towards both short- and long-term goals

  • Exceptional staff management capabilities

  • Strong relationship building skills

  • Strong social media presence and savvy

  • Active member of appropriate organizations (e.g., Association of Proposal Management Professionals)

  • Proficient with desktop publishing software, PowerPoint, pipeline management systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, and other collaboration tools designed to facilitate working across remote teams (such as Mural)

(GDMS) has an immediate opening for a Proposal Manager to work in our Strategy and Business Development (SBD) organization for the Fair Lakes, VA Proposal Center of Excellence (PCOE). The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. In this role, you will implement the Business Development Process (BDP) managing the development of proposals, mentoring capture managers, and coaching capture and proposal teams on pre-proposal and proposal methodologies.
