The focus includes, but is not limited to, planning, development, engineering, testing, product quality, production, cost, scheduling, performance, special project requirements, customer product requirements, and operations/fulfillment issues.
This leader participatns in internal and external business reviews and takes the lead in preparing documents for business reviews. This individual will perform a variety of non-routine program management tasks to support the business segments, engineering centers, and plants globally. Tasks are typically complex in nature with considerable requirement to exercise professional judgment.
Coordinates and runs the global schedule for program reviews
Lead APQP process: Gate reviews, specifics on financials/timing/risks.
Co-ordinate cross functional team (CFT) from Gate 0 through start of production (SOP) (Gate 5) and throughout program life.
Assure delivery of programs on time, on cost, on target and quality. Manage program risk and opportunities.
Forecasting Program spend
Budget and review costs for program management cost center
Tracking of Tooling & Engineering Design and Development recovery
Change Manage including oversight of Corporate Change Review Board
Determination of schedule, logistics, and frequency
Provides monthly updates to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) through business status reports
Supports the sales team, as needed, in the development of quotations and proposals; identifies opportunities for growth within programs, and new potential projects
Coordinates all required disciplines (engineering, purchasing, planning, manufacturing, quality and sales, etc.) to execute programs to customers' expectations, meeting or exceeding quality and cost objectives. Makes required adjustments and recommends changes to maintain targeted margins
Develops and publishes global metrics for programs
Monthly report showing G/Y/R for Quality, Timing, Financial
Manage and guide Program Management Directors and Program Leaders globally
Facilitate reviews to eliminate systemic internal and external road blocks. Plan and review programs regularly and escalate immediately to resolve issues or get direction. Provide management updates regularly.
Interface with customer's program team.
Support new business acquisition and liaise with Segment Directors.
New plant start-up activities.
Minimum of 10 years of related experience in senior level engineering supervision.
Assignments require considerable knowledge of management practice and policy interpretation or some combination of education and experience that would enable senior technical capability allowing the incumbent to independently evaluate, select, and apply techniques and standards.
Demonstrated leadership and implementation of lean methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated strong leadership, collaboration, project management, problem-solving, change management and influencing skills
Comfortable and well-practiced leading teams within a global matrix with virtual team relationships
Experience serving as an operational advisor to a senior leadership team.
Demonstrated and effective communication and relationship building skills at all levels in an organization. BA/BS required (preferably in a technical discipline), Master's level education in a scientific discipline.
Certification in Program Management. Prefer additional project management and quality certifications.
