We are actively seeking an experienced Vice President of Product Design to lead a team of talented designers throughout all aspects of the product development process. This position reports to the SVP of Product.
This senior leadership role is responsible for driving the strategic design vision and direction of our product's design across the CBS All Access product experience as well as the operational excellence of a large, multidiscipline design team. We're looking for someone who is focused on design outcomes that create clarity of purpose and can drive design excellence and growth throughout the organization.
This design professional should think broadly about our product vision, but also manage day-to-day execution in a fast-paced environment, juggling many competing priorities. A successful candidate will have a strong voice and vision, but must also be collaborative and skilled at driving consensus in an environment with many stakeholders who are all passionate about our products.
Hire, mentor, develop and lead a team of 15 talented product and production designers to continually improve the experience of using our products
Improve and formalize the design language used across all of our platforms
Own end-to-end user experience and user interface design across the full user journey, including on-boarding, wireframes, prototypes to polished UI designs with motion
Juggle a dynamic list of priorities that will help us execute on our product vision
Lead design production, juggling the asset production needs of various teams
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, research and marketing to ensure design consistency and quality
Create product designs that are scalable across platforms and can be maintained in smart ways
Define product interactions, animations and transitions using prototypes
Partner with engineering to ensure designs are executed as envisioned
Look at product usage data and user research to consider the best execution of every product feature
Define design strategy and guidelines including establishment of design best practices
Creation of a product style guide that defines product design across all platforms
Maintain reference designs for responsive web, mobile, tablet and connected TV apps Own design of all ongoing feature enhancements across all products
Design of new and innovative features across the CBS All Access product experience
Redefine the design process and collaborate with team leads across all functions to improve process efficiency
Review and improve the design production process to gain efficiency
Conceive of the optimal structure for the design team and implement changes that will make the team more effective
What you bring to the team:
You have -
15+ years of professional experience, of which, 8+ in leadership; skilled in hiring, coaching and leading effective teams
An impressive portfolio of effective and innovative products across many device platforms
Able to build close / collaborative partner relationships with peer leaders across broader division
Ability to inspire design org on the vision and mission of the larger organization and mobilize group's ability to contribute, deliver and realize that vision
Able to mentor designers to maximize team productivity and individual growth by effectively monitoring quality standards and allocating work and across team members
Foster a culture that values the importance of design and the impact it can have on customer engagement and business results
Dedication to quality and passionate about always improving the experience of using our products
A track-record of success, including experience growing a design organization
Formal design education and training
Comfort and confidence in presenting your ideas to senior leaders within the organization
Experience and appreciation for using data to inform design decisions, including A/B testing
A passion for entertainment
An obsession with product quality and consistency

Experience working on a streaming service, digital entertainment or video-based product
A strong sense of how to create effective user interactions with video across platforms
E-commerce or other relevant experience designing transactions and payment flows
