How you will power our purpose (Job Summary)
The Vice President of People Experience for the Greater Austin YMCA is a mission-driven individual with strategic thinking and operational prowess. As the Vice President, your responsibilities will encompass developing and executing strategies across all HR functions, including recruitment, talent management, compensation, benefits, compliance, and employee relations. Additionally, you'll lead the design and implementation of solutions supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Finance & Administrative Officer, you'll collaborate closely with senior leaders and employee groups to achieve organizational priorities.
How You Will Make an Impact (Essential Functions)
Strategy, Operation, & Results
Designs and executes strategies and programs to enhance all people functions, including talent acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and performance, fostering a diverse and thriving culture
Designs and implements performance enablement systems to enhance employee performance, engagement, and development
Develops programs and frameworks to empower managers at all levels with the necessary skills for leading effective teams
Collaborates with leadership to anticipate future business needs, implement talent solutions, and align HR strategies with organizational objectives
Partners with the Organizational Effectiveness team to create learning programs aligned with organizational goals and career paths
Stays updated on leading-edge HR practices and trends to maintain talent attraction and retention competitiveness
Supervises the administration of employee benefits and compensation programs
Oversees recruitment and talent acquisition initiatives to attract and retain top talent
Establishes and enforces HR policies and procedures for compliance with laws and regulations
Offers guidance and assistance on employee relations matters and conflict resolution
Partners with the People Experience team to address complex employee issues and complaints
Manages HR technology systems for streamlined processes and increased efficiency
Conducts regular audits and assessments of HR practices to identify areas for improvement
Ensures timely and accurate submission of data requested by the EEOC, YMCA of the USA, Department of Labor, etc. Collaborates with Finance to ensure HRIS accuracy and legal compliance
Systems, Data, & Process Improvement
Builds and enhances HR infrastructure, policies, and procedures for improved operations
Evaluates and improves existing practices through data analysis across the employee lifecycle
Establishes effective data collection and analysis frameworks
Implements data-driven decision-making using people analytics
Ensures compliant personnel file management and recordkeeping
Collaborates with Finance to ensure HRIS accuracy and legal compliance
Team Leadership
Guides the People Experience team -- providing coaching, support, and development opportunities
Provides leadership and mentorship to ensure the team effectively manages day-to-day operations
Ensures team accountability for achieving strategic objectives
Demonstrates inclusive leadership to enhance team success by leveraging diverse perspectives
Manages hiring, coaching, and oversight of direct reports in alignment with organizational practice
Conducts regular check-ins with team members to monitor progress and offer guidance
Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience: You have a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or an equivalent field with a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible and successful executive leadership experience in human resources (required). SHRM-CP or SPHR certification is required.
