GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The VPSA serves as the chief student affairs officer, reporting directly to the President. Responsibilities include providing leadership for Student Affairs, Housing and Residence Life, Student Life, Counseling, Accessibility Services, DEI, Compliance Coordinator, Orientation, Parent Programming, and the Concept Store. The VPSA plays a crucial role in fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion, and is expected to collaborate with Academic Affairs and other departments to enhance the overall student experience. The position involves budget management, strategic planning, and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

• Direct leadership for Student Affairs, Student Life, Residence Life, Counseling, Accessibility Services, DEI, Compliance Coordinator, Orientation, Parent Programming, and the Concept Store.

• Chief advisor to the President on relevant matters.

• Ensures divisional compliance with the institutional mission and strategic plan.

• Develops leadership skills within the team and provides strategic direction for various programs.

• Manages budgets for relevant offices within the VPSA's line.

• Collaborates on extracurricular activities, student relations, and emergency management.

• Acts as the chief judicial officer oversees Title IX matters, and collaborates with other departments for student retention.

• Will collaborate and work with responsibilities related to orientation, parent programs, and the concept store within the scope of Student Affairs.

• Works collaboratively with:

• Facilities Staff to maintain and enhance campus safety.

• Provost and Academic Chairs to develop a student engagement program including curricular and co-curricular components.

• Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations on long-term vision and solution for the Residence Life Program.

• Edits and prepares for publication:

• LIM College Student Handbooks, annually. Ensures proper review including legal is done timely.

• Portions of the LIM College catalog fall within the purview of Student Affairs and its affiliated departments.

• Participates as appropriate in campus-wide events.

• Serves on the President's Cabinet

• Undertakes special duties or responsibilities as directed by the President or other members of the Leadership Team.

• Partners with the Vice President of Government Relations and Community Affairs on LIM College's Compliance program, co-chairs the Compliance Committee, with responsibilities of ensuring institutional compliance throughout the entire College.

• Fosters positive student relations by maintaining effective lines of communication with student leaders and serving as a strong advocate for the non-academic, extra-curricular, and co-curricular needs of students.

Performance Measurements:

• Efficient functioning of units within the VPSA's purview.
