Vice President of Sales

Direct Hire: $135-155k + Bonus opportunities

Location: Greater Boston, MA general area

Willingness to travel 50-75% between corporate and manufacturing locations

The Vice President of Sales plans, prioritizes, and directs the commercial activities of the business. The VP of Sales will manage the sales team and manufacturer's representative to develop and market company products and services to maximize profit and growth.

Duties Include:

  • Direct and prioritize the activities of the Account Managers and Manufacturer's Representatives to increase revenue and profitability.

  • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing customer relationships and pursuing new business development opportunities.

  • Hire, manage and work with Manufacturer's representatives. Negotiate, execute, and terminate agreements and manage commissions paid to ensure they are in line with the services provided.

  • In conjunction with Corporate, develop an annual sales plan for MRG and work to achieve and exceed the sales and profit targets. Prepare regular forecast updates as requested and required. Participate in the development of the strategic plan. Monitor adherence to the approved budgets and strategic plans.

  • Coordinate Sales activities to enhance profitability through various methodologies such as raw material pass through, collection of obsolescence costs, terms compliance and cost reductions.

  • Negotiate major business agreements / contracts, volume purchase agreements, long term contracts and pricing.

  • Investigate, evaluate, and monitor the company's competitive position and the market and understand market share in served markets. Initiate, recommend and implement actions to improve competitiveness and attack competitive market share.

  • Report and communicate regular customer call reports and gather and communicate competitive intelligence to internal constituents.

  • Develop relationships with all customer points of contact including the most senior level customer contacts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or business from a four-year accredited university

  • 5+ years sales management experience in the Wire Harness/Electrical Distribution system market.

  • Knowledge and experience in robotics, warehouse automation, medical, defense, industrial and electronic industries are highly beneficial.

  • Detail-oriented with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to interface with internal and external customers.

  • Demonstrated managerial success.

  • Strong businesses acumen, knowledge, and skills.

  • Displays independent judgment and initiative

  • Willingness to travel to customers' corporate and manufacturing locations. (50%-75%)
