Under the direction of the CEO, the Vice President of Sales is responsible for the management and development of Avella compounding sales teams over each of its core product lines 503B Outsourcing, 503A Compounding, and 503A IV Oncology.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise new and existing Sales Directors and Customer Service Leaders to assist with organizational skills, account strategies, territory planning and administrative responsibilities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained. Develops and increases sales revenue to meet assigned targets

  • Become actively involved in sales orientation and sales training programs. Acts as a resource to Sales Directors in negotiations, closing the sale and developing marketing plans for assigned territory

  • Support Managed Care contracts both nationally and regionally for the Company's 503A IV Oncology Division

  • Promote and support Compounding business development

  • Identify prospective, high volume clients in target groups nationally. Secures appointments and qualifies these accounts

  • In conjunction with Avella Compounding Services overall marketing plan, makes a sales plan with specific target accounts and sales objectives. Upon approval of the plan, is responsible for the successful accomplishment of this plan

  • Ensure that production and other related teams and staff are informed of all target accounts and specific client needs in order to insure proper servicing of the client

  • Conducts follow-up on all maintenance accounts to ascertain continued satisfaction with Avella and identify areas to increase business

  • Serve as liaison between the account, production and customer service to facilitate communication and resolve problems, if they occur

  • Join and attend key professional organizations to increase visibility of Avella Compounding Services and increase business opportunities

  • In partnership with sales staff, provide inservices to accounts as needed

  • Provide feedback to Avella's senior management team on sales issues, customer satisfaction/complaints, etc.

  • Attend training classes and remain current on professional articles on both clinical and sales issues

  • Attend weekly sales and staff meetings and participate in sales conference calls

  • Participate in exhibits and seminars to promote Avella Compounding Services

Reporting/Documentation

Requirements:
  • Monthly sales reporting completed with sales operations teams

  • Utilize and manage Salesforce.com

  • Maintain active pipeline reporting for each business unit

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of sales experience

  • A minimum of five (5) years in sales management with documented success of leading large teams and multiple programs

  • Experience leading layered teams of sales managers and individual contributors

  • Experience working with payers, regional hospitals/groups, large purchasing organizations, physicians and similar entities

  • Experience with Compounding Pharma

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required

  • Experience presenting information to large groups, managers, clients, customers and the general public

  • Ability to analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulation

  • Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

  • Demonstrated ability to lead presentations for small and large groups

  • Previous successful sales experience in medical field

  • Coaching/mentoring experience with less-senior sales staff

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and negotiating skills

  • Ability to travel 50% to 70%.

This leader will also partner with business development teams in taking the new solutions to market. Success in this role requires procurement operations experience across payer, provider and other industries with a track record of quantifiable value delivery.
