VP of Product Marketing
The VP of Product Marketing reports to the CMO and is a key member of the Marketing Leadership Team. This person will be responsible for providing leadership and management of the Gigamon product marketing and technical marketing teams. This person will have direct responsibility for both strategic and tactical management of the product marketing process including market and competitive analysis, market and customer needs definition, development and execution of product positioning, packaging and customer-focused messaging, new product introduction, product lifecycle phase gate reviews and creation of compelling content to fuel direct and partner-led sales engagements. This leader will work with other marketing, product and sales leaders to influence and drive market share and revenue within target segments and will serve as a spokesperson at industry conferences, customer, press and analyst events.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
Establish the go-to-market vision, strategy, positioning and messaging for the product portfolio and communicate it cross-functionally.
Build a deep understanding of the buying audience and develop target personas for use across marketing and product management.
Conduct market and competitive analysis to develop differentiation for Gigamon solutions
Oversee and provide direction for market segmentation and targeting.
Collaborate with product management on a rigorous phase gate process, steward the go-to-market component including product launch strategy and execution.
Define and drive the content strategy for the tools, collateral, social media, competitive battle cards and value drivers that articulate the value of Gigamon solutions.
Lead the technical marketing team to develop technical enablement for the SE team including best practice guides, reference architectures and other technical enablement content .
Manage, track and optimize performance against operational and tactical metrics including product/market share, adoption of high-value use cases, revenue, attach rates and competitive wins.
Skills and Experience
15 to 20 years in technology marketing with 7 to 10 years in an enterprise security company with responsibility for product marketing strategy and execution. Networking and mobile service provider marketing experience a plus
Track record of success in product marketing at a growing company with multiple product lines, regions and distribution channels
Intellectual curiosity with technical prowess to translate complex concepts and technical features into customer-relevant benefits, value-based solutions and messages
Leadership by example and motivation including a proven track record identifying, recruiting and developing A-level talent
Critical thinking, strategic acumen and market insight: can synthesize trends, market data and customer insights into a plan of action. Comfortable with ambiguity and change.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience presenting company and product strategy, roadmap and vision to customers, partners and industry influencers.
Hands-on, action-oriented leader who commands the respect of superiors, peers and team. Ability to influence team to buy-in fully to the approach and execute goals and objectives with enthusiasm.
Passion for results and performance oriented: Finds creative solutions and generates results in a dynamic environment. A strong sense of urgency and the ability to infuse that in others.
Bachelor's degree required. MBA a plus.
