This position will be located in McLean, Virginia and reports to the companys President. The Vice President of Portfolio Management is responsible for overall operations supporting a diverse residential portfolio. This position directly supervises and mentors Regional Managers in all phases of property management and financial operations ensuring that the company's financial, business, and customer service objectives are achieved through creating value. Additional direct reports include the Procurement Manager and Director of Talent Development & Brand Reputation. Other direct reports may be assigned as the portfolio and needs of the company grow.

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Fiscally responsible for the entire portfolio of residential properties including the property operations, financial performance, and driving value creation within each asset.

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, direction, and formal training to enhance the skills of supporting persons/departments within the company to deliver exceptional customer service and consistently create value.

  • Enhance operational efficiencies across the property management operation, and where necessary, propose new organizational structures to achieve desired results.

  • Physically walks and inspects the interior and exterior of properties on a regular basis assuring the marketability of the properties. Makes recommendations for physical repairs and/or replacements.

  • Ensure proper revenue and cost management through vendor contract review and expense controls for the maintenance, repairs, and owner obligations of the portfolio properties.

  • Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information.

  • Review financial statements and data. Utilize financial data to improve profitability.

  • Offer guidance and performance expectations to the Regional Managers in the preparation and achievement of annual operating budget and capital expenditures.

  • Review monthly financial statements with the Regional Managers to enhance knowledge, hold accountable, create efficiencies, and develop plans to meet or exceed budget goals.

  • Work with other leaders to strategically plan for potential growth, new initiatives, new business opportunities, and enhanced business practices.

  • Assure compliance with the policies and procedures as they pertain to financial monitoring controls.

  • Maintain knowledge on market competition, rental rates, and industry trends that impact our business.

  • Maintain relationships with industry peers to understand varying means of operational practices.

  • Foster a collaborative, positive work environment across all properties. Promote strong communication and collaboration between corporate departments.


  • Proven experience with administration and management of a multi-site portfolio.

  • Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management.

  • Strong business acumen, skilled in corporate finance, financial management, including budgeting and forecasting.

  • Knowledge of business and management, human resources, marketing, and project management principles and practices.

  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and act on issues and/or problems, reach sound conclusions and take appropriate action.

Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years management experience in property management field with multi-site responsibility required. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Real Estate preferred. MBA and/or CPM designation a plus.

If so, we are looking for you to join our Investments and Capital Markets Division Loan Portfolio Managing and Structuring (LPMS) group! This team is responsible for the management of our Non-Performing Loan (NPL) and Re-Performing Loan (RPL) positions in the company's retained portfolio. This includes Seasoned Credit Risk Transfer (SCRT), Seasoned Loan Structured Transactions (SLST) and NPL sale programs. Our new hire will support executing transactions within these programs as a member of LPMS's quantitative team. Is it you? Read on! Your Work Falls into These Three Primary Categories: SCRT/SLST/NPL transactions * Work with Single Family on data due diligence requirements, data quality check, loan drop criteria, review loan tape and loan population, build final investor loan tape and ensure its data quality * Handle the timeline to receive delivery from Single Family, and to deliver to SCRT/SLST/NPL transaction managers * Provide/validate/review various tables used for transaction documents, trustee payments, loan-level transaction data recording in internal database Research, analytics, portfolio management, and other transactions * Research and improve understanding on loan level data issue regarding modification, bankruptcy, forgiveness, repurchase, and post-IRCI data issue etc * Supervise the whole-loan portfolio led by LPMS desk on inflow / outflow, performance, changes in trend * Provide analytics for investor roadshow, planning for future transactions, hedging, whole-loan and bond pricing related analytics * Issue Modified/Re-performing PC, maintain and improve the existing PC issuance code and platform, and perform related analytics * Research and develop new products to manage portfolio interest rate risk/credit risk Automation * LPMS team work with ICM Business Engineering team closely to maintain regularly used datasets in 1010, and automate existing reports in Tableau * Build proto type of analytical reports, write requirements if needed, validate new/updated data table/reports * Supervise existing Tableau reports and data in 1010 to understand the portfolio and making sure all reports are functioning accurately Qualifications * Typically has 5 to 7 years of meaningful & relevant experience * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, Statistics or related quantitative field * Good analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to think creatively * Experience in SQL/SAS, and willingness to learn new programming language. * Good organizational and time leadership skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced trading desk environment and ability to deal with some degree of ambiguity * Proven communication and communication skills Key to Success in this Role: * Good work ethic * Positive demeanor * Great teammate * Proactive Today, Freddie Mac makes home possible for one in four home borrowers and is one of the largest sources of financing for multifamily housing.
