Job Title: Vice President, Information Technology

Branch: Association Office/Hybrid

Pay Class: Full Time/Exempt

Shifts/Availability: Monday-Friday/Day

Rate: $120,000-$140,000

About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.

Position Purpose: This position supports the mission and work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization. The Vice President of Information Technology intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that is welcoming, genuine, hopeful, nurturing, and determined. The Vice President of Information Technology provides leadership and develops and manages their organization's technological infrastructure, implements and maintains critical IT systems, and researches new technologies and opportunities for process or system improvements and oversees all department initiatives for the YMCA of Greater Brandywine. Additionally, this role fosters collaboration between the IT and other departments to align technology with organizational goals and strategic priorities. This role also provides advice and counsel to the branches regarding strategies and best practices. Considerable travel throughout the YMCA of Greater Brandywine service area is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains positive relationships with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization.

  • Leads efforts to streamline IT processes for enhanced operational efficiency and enhances user experience by upgrading and modernizing software and applications.

  • Researches and identifies new technology trends that relate to the YMCA's needs and makes recommendations.

  • Expert in systems integration.

  • Manages and oversees all aspects of information systems

  • Ensures proper operating, cyber safety, and compliance procedures are in place in regards to information technology and provides training as needed.

  • Implement and maintain critical IT systems, including ensuring system security and disaster recovery systems are in place.

  • Works collaboratively with HR on technology training and the development for all staff teams.

  • Evaluates issues pertaining to information systems for strategic planning and innovation; anticipates risk, implications, and possible outcomes before taking any action.

  • Ensures necessary all upgrades and repairs are initiated and systems are optimized and efficient.

  • Develops and monitors budgets related to information technology. Monitors the costs involved in maintaining and improving information systems, including equipment and software

  • Builds vendor relationships and oversees those contracts related to information technology.

  • Evaluates and recommends technology purchases based on the YMCA's needs.

  • Communicates and cooperates with other Senior Leadership Team Members and all Branches to support the coordination of needs as it relates to information technology.

  • Responsible for overall supervision and support of information technology staff and follows and implements policies and procedures.

  • Ensures a culture of continuous learning, training and support is provided to all users to keep the team updated on emerging technologies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5-10 years of progressively responsible and successful leadership experience with supporting/guiding teams to achieve set performance goals across multi sites.

  • Possess interdisciplinary knowledge and understanding of core principles and best practices within information technology as well as IT innovation.

  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and manage organizational strategies and actions to full execution. Proven ability to resolve ambiguous problems and improvise solutions.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills reflecting solid customer service.

  • Demonstrated ability to: form appropriate assessment-based relationships; exemplify excellent leadership qualities in managing associates tactfully; relate well in multicultural and multi-generational environments; maintain confidentiality throughout daily operations; maintain good communication skills and multitask efficiently; manage competing priorities and deadline; use time effectively; and focus on details.

  • Demonstrated ability to collect meaningful data and draw solid conclusions and skills in compiling and producing written reports.

  • Proficiency in computer skills including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.

  • Able to travel throughout the YMCA of Greater Brandywine service area is required.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed (position is Hybrid).
