Elekta is looking for a Vice President of HR Americas to lead the Human Resources function for North and South America as well as the Oncology Informatics Solutions Business Line. Mike Hartman, who is currently holding this position and leading the Legal function for the Americas, has decided to shift back to focus 100% on the Legal function.

As the HR lead for the OIS Business Line you are responsible for driving the Elekta people agenda within the business line by operating as a strategic partner to the OIS Leadership Team while ensuring HR processes are implemented in accordance with Elekta's policies, practices and objectives. You will provide HR support to leaders across the business line, and you will lead and coordinate the implementation of the HR and business agenda through functional and local HR resources. You are a member of the OIS Management Team as well as a member of the Global HR Management Team. You have a solid reporting line to the Group HR organization, reporting directly to the EVP HR, and a dotted line to the President of the OIS Business Line.

As HR Lead for Americas you will lead the Americas HR team and you will be responsible for efficient and value adding HR delivery to all Elekta employees in the Americas.

In this role you will be an Ambassador for and act according to Elekta Code of Conduct, Values, Policies and ethical standards.


In the role as Head of HR for Business Line Oncology Informatics Solutions

  • Develop and implement a people strategy supporting achievement of the Business Line strategy as well as the overall Elekta people strategy.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making in the business line in your role as a management team member of the Business Line management Team.

  • Actively support the business line leadership team in identifying and devising changes to the organizational structure, job design and competency needs, providing advice on risk, employment legislation and other personnel related factors, incl M&A.

  • Drive learning & development, succession planning and engagement to ensure competency growth in line with business needs, strengthening of the people pipeline, improvement of engagement and eNPS year on year.

In the role as VP of HR Americas

  • Responsible to develop and organize the HR Americas organization to be fully aligned with the global Elekta HR delivery model.

  • Ensures the HR function plays an integral and strategic role in shaping the business transformation, building organizational capability, leadership strength and performance culture.

  • Ensures the sustained delivery of a professional and effective HR service in Americas

  • Management the Americas HR team. Enable the development of the team's skills, knowledge and capacity consistent with the requirements of the business and HR delivery model.

  • Set the budget for HR Americas and ensures the budget is in line with business objectives.

  • For the functions supported as HR Lead, develop and implement a functional people strategy.

  • Provide advice and direction to senior managers on various aspects of HR, including management practices, performance management, organizational effectiveness, compensation, team member development, retention, employee relations and ethics compliance.

  • Member of the Global HR Management Team and supporting the achievement of the overall Elekta People Agenda.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or equivalent.

  • At least 15 years of broad ranging HR experience gained in dynamic, matrix and change orientated business environments.

  • Knowledge and experience of all core HR processes (Performance Management, Compensation & benefits, Competency development, Recruitment, Employee Relations, etc.).

  • Transformational leadership style. Energetic and motivated to drive change and high performance.

  • Experience in working internationally in an HR capacity.

  • Culturally savvy, proven ability to work alongside and get results in a diverse cultural environment.

  • Good business acumen understands how decisions impact business performance.

  • Excellent consultation and coaching skills, able to influence at senior level.

  • Ability to manage a busy workload and meet expectations on delivery.

  • Effective, clear and concise communication skills both written and spoken English.

  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities and demands.

  • Budget planning and management Able to develop & manage HR budget.

  • Good IT skills, MS Office, HR database / systems management tools.
