Job Title: Vice President, Health Strategies

Pay Class: Full Time/Exempt

Shifts/Availability: Monday-Friday/Day

Rate: $120,000-$140,000

About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.

Position Summary: This position supports the mission and work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization. The Vice President, Health Strategies at the YMCA of Greater Brandywine is responsible for supporting the organization's ability to improve Chester County's health and well-being specifically by supporting the ongoing development, enhancement and success of the Association-wide Health Strategies agenda components. The Association Health Strategies agenda will include a robust portfolio of both health and wellness and community integrated health programs. The Vice President, Health Strategies supervises, develops and implements a full range of programming, services, partnerships, and community outreach to achieve strategic goals and provide outstanding service to all members, program participants and partners. In addition, the role with work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to improve Chester County's overall health outcomes and health disparities to advance total community health and health equity with a focus on social determinants of health. This position provides direction, measurement and accountability to Association initiatives within the YMCA Healthy Living framework. The role requires that the Vice President, Health Strategies be committed to delivering high quality results, building positive relationships, maintaining a safe environment, and fostering a healthy community for all. This role also provides advice and counsel to the branches regarding strategies and best practices. Considerable travel throughout the YMCA of Greater Brandywine service area is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts research to support the creation and development of all programs/services in the portfolio including grant fulfillment.

  • Drives Healthy Living programs/services that support the underserved with disparate health challenges & foster an inclusive environment.

  • Fosters collaborative relationships across the organization to identify opportunities that build awareness and stimulate action toward incorporating a health equity perspective into existing, emerging, and potential programs and initiatives. Identify and propose new tactics, resources, and partners to support these efforts.

  • Provides input and awareness focused on health equity and outreach strategies that influence other functional areas of the organization.

  • Identify new and emerging policy trends, align advocacy priorities with community needs, and better engage communities.

  • Supports the tracking & delivery of approved Healthy Living metrics & corresponding reports that promote portfolio advancement through the management of an electronic health record service.

  • Supports Healthy Living budget development, projections/forecasts & corresponding variance or optimization strategies to ensure annual portfolio growth & achievement of Association goals.

  • Support approved community and hospital/healthcare partnerships.

  • Leads implementation of approved YUSA & 3rd party wellness initiatives/relationships.

  • Positions the Association as an experienced thought leader that is a resource for improving the quality of health within the communities served.

  • Executive Lead to support the Health Strategies Quality Team/Health and Wellness Operations policies and procedures.

  • Manages the growth and impact of the YMCA portfolio of Community Health & Chronic Disease Prevention Programs to improve overall public health outcomes.

  • Focuses on driving connection, engagement and retention through specific goals for healthy living and chronic disease program growth, member connection to Health and Wellness Programs, member retention and engagement in health and wellness programs, member conversion and retention from EBHI and physician referral programs.

  • Researches and reports on the latest trends and developments in healthy living, health and wellness and evidence-based programs.

  • Manages project and program rollouts, assessments, and related activities involving healthy living. Assists with the assessment of program performance to maximize return on investment.

  • Supports quality enhancement and consistent service delivery across the Association.

  • Manages the implementation and compliance of all external and internal requirements, policies, and procedures as well as all relationships with external accreditation entities.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5-10 years of progressively responsible and successful leadership experience with supporting/guiding teams to achieve set performance goals across multi sites.

  • Possess interdisciplinary knowledge and understanding of core principles and best practices within healthy living programming and design.

  • Must have a proven history of engaging communities of color and individuals and communities that have been socially and economically marginalized.

  • The individual must have a deep awareness of and comfort engaging on issues such as structural racism, unconscious bias, and explicit bias.

  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and manage organizational strategies and actions to full execution. Proven ability to resolve ambiguous problems and improvise solutions.

  • Demonstrated work experience working with both child and adult populations in diverse groups from all social and economic segments of the community.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills reflecting solid customer service.

  • Demonstrated ability to collect meaningful data and draw solid conclusions and skills in compiling and producing written reports.

  • Proficiency in computer skills including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • HIPAA Compliance certification required.

  • Previous experience with YMCA Health and Wellness programs preferred.

  • Previous experience with YMCA EBHI Healthy Living Programs preferred.

  • Previous experience in healthcare, public health or social services preferred.

  • Budgeting experience required.

  • Must apply for an NPI Number within 90 days of starting the role.

  • Excellent knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles.

  • Able to travel throughout the YMCA of Greater Brandywine service area is required.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours as needed (position is Hybrid).
