Opportunity for Impact
Reporting to the CTO of Synapse Group and Bizrate Insights, the Vice President of Engineering will oversee the entire Synapse engineering organization. You'll lead engineering for consumer-facing products, a robust suite of both public and private APIs, an extensive and complex system managing millions of subscriptions, innovative new product development, a data engineering team working with massive amounts of data, and much more.
This is a mature organization operating at very large scale that is also in the midst of a transformation. You'll be able to have a massive impact throughout the entire organization immediately by driving and implementing meaningful change.
Role and Responsibilities (What You'll Do)
Partner with the CTO to establish, execute, and achieve the company's technical vision
Actively recruit, hire, and retain excellent engineering talent
Define and shape engineering best practices
Work closely with Product to continuously deliver well-crafted, working software that creates real business value
Ensure that the team is in alignment with business needs via OKRs, roadmaps, and constant feedback
Collaborate on key architectural decisions and design considerations to ensure high quality, scalability, maintainability, and resiliency
Coach and provide guidance to senior engineering leaders on management and technical tracks
Professional Qualifications (What You Have)
You've managed technical teams at scale including Engineering, QA, and Data Science
You have deep experience with modern technologies, architectures, and agile development
You have experience thriving within an organization undergoing a transformation
You are a proven leader who can build and manage a strong team and set vision with technical expertise to back it up
Proven ability and success creating a collaborative culture of innovation and technical excellence
You've managed groups of 50+ including offshore relationships
