Reporting to CEO & President of JLR North America, and based at our Corporate headquarters in Mahwah, NJ, the Vice President of Network Development & Training will be a key executive position of the JLR North America board. The role will have strategic and operational responsibility for ensuring that the US market's retailer network is structured, resourced and motivated to deliver performance to the highest standards and in a manner fully supportive of the Jaguar and Land Rover brands. Scope of the role encompasses all aspects of franchising, retailer standards, performance management, and business management

What you will be doing:

  • Developing the market representation strategy including the implementation of the network plan to support future business plan aspirations (5-10 year strategic review), with specific emphasis on bringing the brands together at retail level i.e. channeling brands into a single retail outlet;

  • Developing appropriate tools for determining retailer investment, size, capacity, staffing and an appropriate return on investment. Drive the application of these tools in market;

  • Identifying and assessing candidates for new markets through a robust process that establishes the right partners in the right locations, supporting the premium market position;

  • Supporting the management of sales and service applications, appointments / terminations and changes of ownership;

  • Providing standards, guidance and support on retailer facility design and build in support of Global Corporate Identity program;

  • Managing approval process, tracking, measuring and monitoring dealership builds to ensure on-time launches with required JLR Corporate Identity;

  • Improving the capability of the dealer network though the implementation of dealer standards and performance management of the network (DSP/VDM);

  • Driving business excellence in dealer processes both in Sales and Customer Service areas including programs to track key performance metrics across all retailer business areas including CSI, Profitability, market penetration;

  • Managing the vehicle margin strategy / programs in support of corporate goals and retailer profitability (VDM/FDM);

  • Developing and implementing the activities to improve dealer profitability including the management of credit risk evaluation structures;

  • Driving strategic long term development of our retailers supporting development solutions alongside Director for training.

  • Developing and managing of primary retailer ranking program based on balanced retailer scorecard and resulting retailer recognition program identifying best performers nationally; and

  • Performing other duties as required.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline is desirable

  • Must have strong business acumen, and the ability to work with people at varying levels within the organization and network;

  • Experience in Automotive Franchise Management is required;

  • An understanding of drivers of retailer business, and knowledge of retailer processes is essential;

  • Previous operational and/or field experience is required;

  • Must have a high skill level in financial modelling, as well as project management and coordination;

  • Must have previous experience with legal contracts/agreements, and a proven track record with supplier and vendor management;

  • Must have excellent judgment to resolve complex issues efficiently and effectively, as well as demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail and verbal and writing skills;

  • Must be comfortable presenting and interacting with all levels of the organization; and

  • Where this position is office based, must have the ability to conduct retailer visits as required across the network.

Schedule: Hybrid Ways of Working (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - office days; Wednesday and Friday - choice days)

Recruitment Salary Range: $156,500 - $204,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized components, including location, skills, experience, and market factors. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus in addition to a full range of medical/health, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick/personal, and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position".
