Position Summary:
The Vice President, Michigan Network Development reports directly to the Regional Market President. This individual will be responsible for identifying and developing network growth opportunities for Equality Health (EQH) in our Michigan markets. The ideal candidate will be an experienced network leader who has built and maintained a professional network of Michigan-based healthcare industry contacts for the purpose of sourcing and consummating new provider relationships. S/he will drive a continued increase in the number of covered lives impacted by EQHs model across the state of Michigan, with a focus on deepening EQHs market penetration within state markets, where it already has an established presence.
Responsibilities:
Direct the MI Network Development team in the construction and expansion of EQH provider network; provide oversight to execute network expansion activities aligned with the MI go-to-market strategy.
Prepare and negotiate provider contracts with strategic provider partners (e.g., large physician groups, FQHCs, hospitals) and oversee the execution of the provider contracting process completed by the Network Development team, in accordance with the companys established templates and guidelines
Oversee close coordination with corporate Provider Network Operations team to execute the administrative functions related to provider contracting, data management and credentialing
Oversee close coordination with local Practice Performance Management team to effectively execute the new group/practice training and onboarding process
Serve as the key subject matter expert (SME) on local and regional provider market dynamics for the purpose of developing the MI go-to-market strategy and executing on it, which includes:
Provider network growth
Achievement of contract objectives
Partner with Legal and Compliance teams as needed to modify contract templates to ensure compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements
Direct internal and external stakeholders, as appropriate, to achieve contract objectives (e.g., establishment of data exchange, formation of and participation in joint operations committees, contract performance monitoring)
Create and contribute to a positive work environment for people at all levels by valuing them, nurturing relationships, and advocating for cultural diversity across the organization
Hold staff accountable for performance/performance improvement, and motivate, recognize, and reward positive results.
Plan, coordinate, and effectively lead project management activities
Ensure all applicable state and federal requirements are met for all lines of business
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related a related field of study; Masters degree is preferred
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a senior leadership position in a directly related role
Demonstrated ability to negotiate with prospective clients and build client relationships
Direct personal knowledge of the provider and payer landscapes in one or more major Michigan metropolitan areas
Proven experience building and mentoring high quality, reputable teams
Demonstrated understanding of technology-enabled services businesses, and proven knowledge of the payer space and connection to the population health landscape
Proven knowledge of healthcare delivery operations at various points of care
Experience adapting and instituting processes and infrastructure in a fast-growing organization
Highly Preferred Skills, Abilities & Qualifications:
Proven track record of building meaningful relationships across a diverse group of stakeholders and the ability to manage large-scale programming from concept through fruition
Demonstrated ability to efficiently utilize resources (i.e., capital and talent) to recognize the corporate vision
Establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with a diverse network of administrative leadership and staff
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; highly collaborative team approach to work
Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to systematically analyze problems, draw relevant conclusions and devise appropriate courses of action
Able to convey complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand and interpret complex information from others
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and web-based technologies
