Vice President, Merchandise Planning

Serena and Lily is seeking a Vice President of Merchandise Planning to join our team in Sausalito, California. This position leads the planning organization and reports to the SVP Merchandising, Inventory Planning & Sourcing. This leader will devise and execute the inventory management strategies and initiatives of the total Serena & Lily brand.

You will lead a team of Merchandise Planning Directors, planners and planning coordinators to develop business strategies to maximize financial performance including demand forecasting, inventory flow strategies, promotional lift plans and assortment exit strategies. You will work closely with merchandising counterparts to align on seasonal forecasting and the corresponding inventory strategies to support the assortment plans. You will collaborate with the finance, supply chain, sourcing, and operations teams on inventory related strategies and budgets. You will make operational recommendations for inventory flow, warehouse management, catalog, website, and other channels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Leads the planning organization for the 4 core brand divisions: Furniture, Upholstery, Textiles and Decorative Accessories.

• Responsible for the inventory management of the brand, ensuring alignment with strategic, financial, and brand objectives.

• Own the brand Open to Buy with monthly re-forecasts and outputs to the finance and marketing teams.

• Drives inventory planning strategies to maximize financial results and optimize stock levels.

• Collaborates with merchandising and sourcing partners to ensure appropriate financial and inventory plans for new and existing products.

• Leads weekly leadership inventory review meetings, with a focus on business highlights and actions needed.

• Manages and develops the merchandise planning team of 10.

• Manages operational recommendations in-season and for future planning of inventory flow.

• Leads weekly cross-functional meetings, driven to action points to achieve inventory plans and efficiency.

• Drives calendar to meet critical dates and deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree.

• At least 10 years of merchandise and inventory planning.

• Must be highly proficient with Excel, inventory management systems, and sales analysis.

• Ability to create and present powerful and influential documents to the executive leadership team.

• Fully developed financial business acumen and understanding of inventory management.

• Ability to drive innovation and collaboration through strategic initiatives.

COMPENSATION:

• $190-230K depending on experience
