We are seeking a dynamic and experience Vice President and Head of Medical Affairs to lead our medical affairs team in shaping the strategic direction of our oncology portfolio, with a focus on breast cancer. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in building and executing medical strategies, fostering key opinion leaders (KOL) relationships, and be a key collaborator between clinical development and future commercial and market access teams.
Your work will primarily encompass:
Responsibilities:
Accountable for the leadership, development, and execution of the Medical Affairs StrategyDesign, the structure and assess the needed capabilities for building a Medical Affairs team
Provide scientific and functional leadership to the Medical Affairs team
Serve as a key partner with Commercial in terms of market-building activities
Develop and lead Key Opinion Leader outreach by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and medical societies in the field of oncology, particularly breast cancer
Serve as a credible scientific expert and advocate for the company's oncology portfolio
Establish investigator-initiated studies program
Lead publication strategy and planning, CME education, symposia, and congress planning
Establish policies and procedures for key Medical Affairs activities, ensuring compliance with the principles of Scientific Engagement, including leading discussions around compassionate use programs
Actively contribute to the development of target product profiles, contributing the voice of the medical professional to the development of these assets
Contribute to the selection of vendors and design of educational materials
Accountable for copy approval of external materials
Represent Olema as the key liaison with advocacy groups and medical and scientific societies worldwide
Lead the medical strategy for Advisory Board meetings
Partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure Medical Affairs activities are conducted according to Olema's policies and procedures, and in a manner compliant with all external laws and regulations
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including clinical development, clinical operations, project management, regulatory affairs, and commercial, to drive the successful development and commercialization of oncology products
Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the broader Olema organization

Knowledge:
Graduate degree in health sciences (MD, PhD, PharmD)
Minimum of 15 years of experience working in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry in medical affairs with at least 5 years in leadership roles
Relevant launch experience preferred
Proven track record of success in medical affairs strategy, and KOL engagement, preferably in the field of breast cancer
Prior interactions with public health agencies, medical and scientific societies
Strong understanding of clinical trial design, regulatory requirements, and market access considerations in oncology
Experience with publication planning and lifecycle management
Proven ability to plan and execute medical strategies

COMP RANGE TEXT:
The base pay range for this position is expected to be $310,000 -$340,000 annually, however the base pay offered may vary depending on location, market, job related knowledge, skills and capabilities, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes equity, bonus, and benefits.
