CBS Marketing is looking for someone who has extensive experience developing strategic, highly creative, and effective cross-channel marketing campaigns to promote news programs, specials, and overall news brands and products. As the VP, Marketing Strategy for News, you will be responsible for gathering appropriate customer insights and data points to create and produce many types of marketing plans that effectively set objectives, identify appropriate target audiences, develop positioning strategies, then integrate cross-channel tactics (including social media, experiential activities, etc.) that effectively engage appropriate audiences. You will work across a team of marketing strategists who will collaborate with internal and external teams, along with out-of-house agencies, to develop and execute strategic marketing plans, with a goal to find innovative, efficient and effective ways to market our CBS News programming, as we build the CBS brand as a top choice for news content. You will be a key member of the CBS Marketing leadership team and will work closely with the leadership, marketing, development, and product teams across CBS News and CBS Interactive.
Set clear objectives, identify targets, and set positioning and engagement strategies across the CBS News brand and associated programs and specials.
Manage the development of a range of content marketing plans and ongoing brand efforts, including integrated engagement and overall strategies.
Gather, analyze, and apply relevant customer insights and data to help define effective and innovative strategic marketing approaches.
Build and implement strategies that provide the most advantageous opportunity to gain significant and valid recognition by our audiences and the industry.
Build and manage highly positive relationships and work effectively with a wide range of executive producers, talent, journalists, creative agencies, trade personnel, publicists, agents, managers, media outlets and industry influencers.
Collaborate effectively with marketing team leadership including media, creative and promotion teams.
Manage the appropriate and effective integration of the CBS brand into all content marketing activities.
Measure outputs against internal and external measures and deliver continuous improvement.
10+ years of experience in news, media, and/or TV marketing.
Relevant marketing team management experience with a major media company, streaming service, brand and/or marketing agency, consumer marketing, marketing communications and/or digital/high-technology consumer companies/products.
Experience leading the creative and strategic planning process.
Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred.
