The VP of Long Term Care represents the Long Term Care interests to Samaritan and the community served. They will serve as Administrator for Samaritan Keep Home and is responsible for providing leadership, staff development, budgeting, and management of key services of Samaritan Keep Home, Samaritan Senior Village and other Long Term Care programs.

Management of services will be in accordance with policies and procedures and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern long-term care facilities. It will be the VP's responsibility to assure each resident receives the necessary nursing, medical, and psychosocial services to attain and maintain the highest possible mental and physical functional status.

The successful candidate will have a proven record of accomplishment and strong leadership skills, to ensure that the improvement process within the facilities continues, that priorities are established, and that goals are m et. He/She is responsible for improving the quality, service and fiscal management of each area.

The VP of Long Term Care participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Hospital System's strategic plans, decision-making processes, planning, promoting and conducting organization-wide performance improvement activities in conjunction with the Board of Trustees, executive management, physician leaders, and other clinical leaders and intervenes as needed. They will be responsible for working with the Board of Directors of both the Samaritan Keep Home and the Samaritan Senior Village.

Master's Degree in Hospital and Health Services Administration or Business Administration, or a health related degree or equivalent. Minimum of ten (10) years administrative management experience in a hospital or long term care facility.

The successful candidate will have a proven record of accomplishment and strong leadership skills, to ensure that the improvement process within the facilities continues, that priorities are established, and that goals are met. Areas of responsibility include improving quality, service and fiscal management. Qualified candidates must have a working knowledge of reimbursement regulations and nursing practices and procedures, as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long- term care administration. Successful candidates must be thoroughly familiar with laws, regulations, and guidelines governing personnel administration. Must be able to read and interpret financial records, reports and be thoroughly familiar with reimbursement methodologies for all payors. A Bachelor's Degree in Hospital and Health Services Administration, Business Administration, or a related degree is required and the qualified candidate must possess a current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator's license or meet the licensure requirements of New York State. A minimum of three (3) years administrative management experience in a long term care facility is required and/or a minimum of five (5) years experience in a leadership capacity in a hospital or long-term care facility.
