We are looking for an energetic and dynamic professional to join our Global Corporate Communications team. The Corporate Communications team works to promote and protect two of the firm's most important assets: its reputation and its culture. Corporate Communications drives BlackRock's communication strategy overseeing the firm's media relations, issues management, executive communications and internal communications program, focusing on the firm's key themes in support of the corporate, retail, institutional and iShares businesses.
The Internal Communications Content Creator and Editorial Manager, based in New York, will help drive BlackRock's Corporate Communications efforts to deliver engaging content on the firm's priorities, what makes BlackRock a great place to work, why our businesses are successful, and how we make a difference through our mission-driven purpose. The primary focus of this role is to create engaging content. Additionally, this person will also manage the overall internal editorial strategy and partner with contributors to create and deliver employee-focused and business-oriented content across a variety of channels.
Design and implement a compelling employee-focused and business-oriented editorial strategy.
Develop engaging content to reach key audiences.
Work collaboratively with other content creators through the editing process to ensure that content to be is compelling and on-brand.
Surface and curate user-generated content from key business areas.
Oversee management of the content pipeline to deliver timely and relevant information and experiences across core channels.
Identify subject matter experts and internal influencers and support development of strategic content programs (employee spotlights, etc.).
Think laterally about innovative and stakeholder-centric ways to deliver engaging content through all communications channels - internally, via social media and other digital properties.
Participate in the research, planning and implementation of internal campaigns and ongoing programs.
Responsible for key audience acquisition and engagement metrics.
Prepare content for publishing or distribution - proof, format and tag articles and memos, select appropriate images or visual assets, and secure approvals.
Help in managing reactive requests with urgency and accuracy.
Develop a deep knowledge of BlackRock business and value propositions for employees, clients and investors.
Develop strong working relationships with communications team members in the Americas, EMEA and APAC to create operational synergies.
Essential skills and qualities
Bachelor's degree, plus 8+ years of corporate communications, agency/consultancy, journalism and/or marketing experience.
Excellent verbal communication skills, particularly when it comes to conversations with team members, business partners and content creators.
Exceptional writing and editing abilities, including spelling and grammar skills, with an exceptional eye for detail.
Innovative approach to content types - thinking beyond the written word to consider visual, video, audio, in-person experiences and more as possible channels.
Creative, results-oriented problem-solver with ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with resilience, intellectual curiosity and flexibility.
Analytical thinking and ability to integrate input from multiple stakeholders while working to deadlines.
Proven ability to synthesize complex materials and to craft creative, persuasive content for a global audience.
Strong project management and organizational skills with aptitude for managing simultaneous projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment.
An energetic team player and driven self-starter, with a positive mindset and excellent work ethic.
Ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, both within the global communications team and the wider business.
Proficient Microsoft Office Suite and Excel skills; advanced skills a plus.
