What Youll Do

This is first and foremost, a business and relationship development position.

As a key part of the Innovation Management team you will be responsible for identifying and developing new client relationships, writing proposals for engagement, and managing the innovation projects you bring in. You will have the freedom to chart your own path to success.

Youll be responsible for client relationships that you develop, but will be supported by cross-functional teams uniquely qualified for each part of the engagement (e.g. creative, product development, commercialization, consumer insights). As a relatively flat organization of subject matter experts, we are all deeply steeped in (and passionate about) the work for our clients. We want you to be successful and thrive in our high touch, relationship-based business.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Proven track record of innovation, growth and product development, including the successful launch of new products or concepts
  • Ability to take the initiative and work independently
  • Bias toward rolling up your sleeves and digging into the work
  • Comfortable selling our services one-on-one
  • Ability to build long-term client relationships
  • Skill to deliver world-class client and project management

Must Haves:

  • Flexibility, with personality and collaboration skills necessary to work cross functionally with all departments
  • Ability to engage in strategic conversations with multiple clients ranging from startup founders to C-Suite executives at large multinational companies
  • Strong network of contacts in the food and beverage industry
  • Ability to think creatively to solve innovation challenges; including recommending appropriate innovation methodology, identifying new business opportunities and products, and designing products that resonate with consumers and generate profits for clients
  • An understanding of the discipline of consumer and customer research: how to gain insights, analyze results, and make recommendations from them
  • Excellent communication skills; can present ideas effectively and persuasively

Requirements

About You

  • BA/BS in a related field (business, marketing, food science), an MBA is preferred
  • Proven leadership or business development experience
  • 15+ years in the food & beverage CPG or foodservice/restaurant industry
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships
  • Exhibits creativity in solving problems or business challenges
  • Must be able to travel with advance notice
