Department Overview

The Structured Products Team is a component of the Investor Partners Group ("IPG") and is responsible for all debt and equity strategies and placement for the Firm.

The Structured Products Team is responsible for structuring and placement of a variety of debt solutions for our various funds and accounts, all of which support our Direct Lending, Broadly Syndicated Loan and Credit Opportunities businesses. Firmwide, the Structured Products Team has executed 103 securitization vehicles representing more than $57 billion in notional value. In addition, the Structured Products Team manages more than $20 billion of debt commitments across a variety of loan-to-SPV secured bank lines, over $3 billion in corporate and GP revolvers, nearly $2 billion in capital call line and hybrid / NAV commitments, and several billion in unsecured other committed and uncommitted leverage products.

The team has an outstanding track record of top tier execution and innovation in the debt capital markets. The team interfaces with external banks and investors, while staying closely aligned with front, middle and back-office functions to ensure delivery of timely and efficient debt solutions for the Firm's various strategies.

More specific to this position, the Structured Products Team manages a highly diversified and robust portfolio of fund finance facilities including capital call lines of credit, hybrid facilities and NAV facilities. The team is currently responsible for over 20 different facilities of this type. The Structured Products Team is also integral to the negotiation, implementation and management of the Firm's GP / management company finance business.

Position Responsibilities

This individual will play a leading role in the Firm's fund finance business and will also support other private and public fund leverage activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in structuring, negotiating and implementing (i) capital call facilities, (ii) hybrid facilities, (iii) NAV facilities and (iv) GP / management company facilities for the broad array of private and public funds and separately managed accounts managed by the Firm

  • Assisting in negotiating and reviewing documentation for new and existing fund finance facilities

  • Assisting in managing fund finance facilities including reporting, borrowing base management, compliance and related procedures

  • Coordinating with the Firm's Investor Communications and Investor Relations Teams regarding the fund finance business

  • Helping to develop and manage relationships with bank and non-bank lenders to the Golub Capital family of funds (e.g., preparing for and participating in lender and facility syndication meetings)

  • Conducting modeling pertaining to prospective and existing fund finance activity

  • Helping with research and development of new fund finance products and presenting them to management

  • Assisting in managing and executing the funds' foreign currency and interest rate hedging activities

  • Assisting in negotiating, documenting and managing various short-term fund leverage strategies (e.g., repurchase financings and total return swaps)

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 10+ years of work experience at a top tier investment bank, law firm or asset management firm

  • Experience handling multiple forms of fund finance facilities and a general sense of the relevant market for these transactions; understanding of documentation and laws pertaining to fund finance is ideal

  • Financial transaction modeling experience a plus

  • Basic understanding and familiarity with derivatives, foreign currency and rates markets a plus

  • Strong attention to detail; must be meticulous and consistently accurate

  • High-level of self-motivation and drive; candidate should be able to work in a faced paced environment and be able to manage to dynamic transactional deadlines

  • Skilled at creating, implementing and improving upon processes and procedures

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Capacity and passion for being part of a fast-growing, small office environment within a larger organization
