Vice President - Finance/Treasurer

Job Description and Requirements

The Vice President - Finance/Treasurer will primarily oversee and manage the financial assets and debt of the organization including cash management, debt management, and corporate investment activities. This officer will assist in the creation and maintenance of the investment portfolio strategy, including the selection of appropriate securities and provides oversight of the CU's Pre-benefit Funding Obligation (PBO) assets. Additionally, this officer is responsible for the core financial risk activities of the credit union including, but not limited to, the customization and operation of the quarterly Interest Rate and Liquidity Risk assessments, Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), deposit pricing and strategy, and oversight and maintenance of the organization's hedging program.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• As an investment officer, maintain and manage the broader portfolio functions including the selection of securities, reporting, and risk management.

• Manage the organizational cash needs and borrowing capacity to ensure liquidity is maintained and cash is effectively deployed consistent with overall strategies and other organizational priorities.

• Maintain oversight responsibility for the preparation of model inputs, data validation, development of global assumptions, reporting, and analysis of results from the primary ALM model used by the credit union.

• Maintain and enhance monthly ALM reporting including key risk indicators for interest rate risk as well as the effectiveness of derivative instruments employed to hedge the organization's risk.

• Maintain strong, documented processes that support the assessment and reporting of key risks aligned with board-approved policies.

• Interact and oversee ALM assumptions utilized for CECL and capital planning purposes.

• Maintain and develop hedging strategies for the organization.

• Support the Secondary Marketing and Mortgage Pipeline Hedging activities of the Credit Union.

• Provide additional support to Finance, Interest Rate Risk & Liquidity and Risk committees, Senior Management and the Board of Directors, as needed.

Requirements:

• BA or BS in Finance, Accounting, or other quantitative discipline

• 5+ years of financial institution experience in Treasury or other Finance/Accounting roles

• 5+ years of job-related management experience

• Proven analytical and quantitative skills (ALM modeling, Hedging, and investment/portfolio management experience)

• Self-starter with ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and think outside the box

• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a desire to pursue best practices in a challenging team environment

• Proficient in MS Office Applications including excel VBA and/or Power Query, and the ability to use sophisticated ALM modeling software and systems, such as Empyrean, Bancware or QRM

Preferred:

• CFA, CTP, CPA or FRM
