What you will do: The Vice President, Finance will be responsible for the development of the South Division's financial reporting and analysis strategy, and will contribute, as a member of the leadership team, to the development of the organization's strategic goals. This role will directly support and partner with the President, South Division, South Division leadership, and Beacon Finance organization to produce insightful and actionable financial analysis to help drive business growth and financial acumen.

This role develops and communicates financial insights and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure that decisions are driven by thoughtful, data driven and thorough analysis. This includes the responsibility for forecasting, development of annual operating plans, project accounting, and financial reporting. This role will serve as a key partner, providing subject matter expertise and direction for the business/function on financial issues.

Duties and responsibilities Understand Beacon Roofing's strategic goals, business drivers, and key metrics Engage in establishing and managing the South Division 5-year strategic plan Partner with the South Division Leadership Team to provide financial insights, analysis and recommendations to inform thoughtful decision making Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities Collaborate with functional, field operations, and sales leaders to ensure ownership and accuracy of financial forecasts, and to support their attainment Drive financial accountability through preparation of timely and accurate financial data and monthly reporting and analysis relative to performance against budgets Direct the development of enhanced management reports/dashboards to allow for better insights and more informed decision making Drive the annual financial budgeting process with business partners across the Division Support corporate forecasting process that allows leadership to understand where the business is headed and where potential improvements are needed Work with the South Division and Beacon Finance teams to develop and manage annual operating budgets that align with strategic goals Ensure the current and long-term effectiveness of all financial and risk management functions, and identify and act upon opportunities to enhance the functions (systems, structures, efficiencies, reporting, etc.) Support Beacon's above market growth initiatives (i.e., greenfields and acquisitions), including pro forma modeling, leading due diligence activities, and financial integration of new acquisitions Support the business in driving revenue and profit growth Ensure the establishment and maintenance of appropriate controls Ensure the business is fully compliant with all operating and reporting requirements Oversee, direct, and organize the work of the Division finance team, and coordinate the preparation of financial statements, reports, and special analyses Promote a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and teamwork across Beacon Finance and the broader organization Maintain an environment of personal accountability that encourages ownership of issues and excellence in service What you will bring: As Vice President, Finance, the right individual must display initiative, passion, a strong work ethic and the ability to lead, plan and manage change. The right candidate must also possess excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

It will also be vital for this role to be able to function effectively, exert influence and gain consensus at all organizational levels. The right candidate must also have solid organizational, time management and prioritization skills. Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration or accounting with MBA and/or CPA preferred 10+ years of financial reporting and analysis experience, preferably 5+ years leading financial reporting and analysis for a publicly traded company Distribution, building supply or multi-location retail experience preferred Proven experience leading, developing and managing a strategic finance function, with full financial management responsibility including oversight of operating budget, financial reporting, best practice accounting controls and processes, investments, and risk mitigation Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization and to align and coordinate with peers across the organization Team management, project management, facilitation, organizational and change management skills to drive the development of sophisticated financial management practices and processes Ability to set and meet high standards of service and to develop a work force that embraces a culture of quality, service, and safety Personal integrity and exemplary ethical standards with a strong commitment to achieving a high level of personal and organizational success in business conduct and relations Tolerance for and the ability to perform in stressful and ambiguous situations Strong business acumen and the ability to add strategic value at the leadership table Ability to interpret and administer policies and procedures consistently and objectively Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrated leadership skills and process orientation Strong ability to work in changing environment, see through complexity Willing to travel up to 25%.
