Vice President Employee Experience
The Vice President of Employee Experience will report directly to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources. Together with senior leadership, the VP and SVP will develop human capital strategies and employee experience programs that drive the business agenda and deliver an organizational culture consistent with the company's values. S/he will be responsible for managing the planning, design and administration of the organization's employee experience roadmap. Specifically, the VP will drive key talent initiatives related to succession and performance, Great Places to Work programs, inclusion and diversity, employee branding, employee communication, employee surveys, and recognition programs. In directing the talent, employee experience and I & D functions, this individual will take a data driven and systemic approach to formulating an integrated culture and employee experience that fosters engagement, inclusivity and belonging across the global employee community. S/he will bring an innovative and inspiring approach that helps to align employees with the company's vision and business strategy.
The Vice President of Employee Experience will manage a staff of employee experience, talent management and inclusion/diversity professionals. S/he will partner with other HR Leaders, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners and business leadership to shape, drive and deliver a meaningful and retentive employee experience globally.
The successful candidate must possess a passion for people with proven experience in developing and implementing a wide variety of programs that have a material impact on their company's commitment to develop and engage a global workforce. S/he must have demonstrated the ability to create and execute effective organizational strategies and transformations on a large scale, apply a deep understanding and expertise of employee engagement, knowledge of global I&D trends, the ability to build coalitions that are passionate about the employee experience, and collaborate comfortably with Senior Management and Executive Leadership. This must be paired with organizational savvy and analytical skills that leverage metrics to inform, influence and educate a wide range of audiences. This individual must be results oriented, flexible, and able to manage multiple projects in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
The position will be based at our corporate headquarters in San Ramon, California.
Leadership and Communications
Maintain strong working relationships with executives and managers. Proactively reach out to key managers to design and implement initiatives that deliver exceptional talent programs, foster a culture of inclusion and diversity, and promote employee engagement.
Work with internal communications to lead the employee communication strategy, ensuring the appropriate tone and strategy are reflected in all communications. Create and apply communication tools that engage the global workforce and reinforce the importance of being an inclusive and great place to work.
Partner closely with Marketing, Communications and Brand team to create relevant content, messaging and promotional programs to activate, inform and engage employees. Ensure consistent experiences across internal and external employee touchpoints.
Facilitate the strategic planning processes for performance improvement. Develop human capital strategies and talent structures using cutting edge engagement models, performance improvement techniques, and recognition systems to attract and retain a high-quality team.
Partner with senior leadership and local HR to embed diversity and inclusion into all business processes, ensuring global alignment which allows for regionalization based on local nuances.
Lead development and implementation of our employer brand and employee value proposition.
Oversee training and orientation to Human Resources staff on talent programs, I&D and the employee experience.
Partner with HR leaders to ensure all talent management practices provide a positive employee experience and incorporate the I&D and GPTW strategies.
Serve as an expert advisor and senior level liaison to HR professionals globally.
Maintain Talent Program, Employee Experience and I&D calendars and proactively communicate with key constituents.
Culture and Engagement
Develop long-term strategies and sponsor key initiatives to promote, achieve and sustain a culture of exceptional employee engagement and overall excellence.
Partner closely with Marketing, Communications and Brand team on a digital promotional program to highlight Robert Half as a Great Place to Work. Defining priorities and goals for promotions and messages externally.
Implement activities, events, and initiatives across the organization to drive a superior employee experience.
Lead the employee engagement and pulse surveys, partnering with business leaders and the HR team to develop impactful action plans based on the results.
Drive employee recognition strategies and program that align to operational and workforce demands.
Oversee the cross-functional Great Place to Work survey initiatives and responses.
Track the effectiveness of programs and initiatives, evolving strategies to improve outcomes.
Develop and maintain reports on employee engagement and organizational culture, creating a repository of materials and best practices.
Keep abreast of best practices in the market on how to drive effective employee engagement.
Inclusion and Diversity
Develop a framework for assessing, implementing, training, and evaluating I&D across the organization.
Develop innovative ways for employees to recognize, accommodate and appreciate individual differences and educate the workforce on how they can assist in delivering a culture of openness, diversity and inclusion.
Enable HR teams to coach business leaders throughout the company on I&D best practices that foster a climate of respect which values inclusion and diversity, builds engagement, and enhances our culture.
Develop events and networks (both internal and external) that enhance and contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Review hiring practices and HR policies to ensure they align to I&D goals; recommend changes when needed.
Working closely with the VP of Global Learning & Development, will collaborate the design and execution of a global succession planning program that identify and differentially invest in top talent throughout the company.
Develop programs that help ensure business continuity and smooth transitions of key functions and roles.
Oversee the global performance management process. Review and continuously improve the processes and tools related to goal-setting, progress tracking, and evaluating individuals.
Bachelor's Degree in business or related field. MBA desired. Equivalent experience may be substituted
10+ years' experience proven experience leading employee or customer/client programs in large, complex global organizations (public organization experience preferred)
Extensive knowledge of innovative and cutting-edge talent programs, employee engagement, and I&D practices
Successful track record of strategic planning with a focus on continuous improvement
Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets, utilize metrics and make data driven recommendation and decisions
Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and usage, and experience with systems (i.e. Workday, Cornerstone, Service Now)
Highly proficient at project management
Proven experience managing in a matrixed environment, with ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally with leaders at all levels
Demonstrated ability to design, implement and drive strategic vision, with a passion for excellence
Strong team player who can build and maintain an engaged team
Ability to remain calm under pressure; comfortable addressing difficult situations
Inspires team members to innovate, take risks and continue improving the quality and value of the work provided to the internal customers
Builds relationships to align efforts with internal business partners, including global teams
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Comfortable with change and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Able to work both strategically and hands-on
Proven organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands
Ability to build relationships, influence and partner with others
A natural leader with direct, concise communication skills
Approachable, even-keeled personality with good sense of humor and ability to relate well with all types of personalities
