DCA's allied practices represent all dental specialties and treat patients under more than 150 brand names.

Job Overview: The VP of Dental Hygiene is responsible for providing clinical leadership, fostering quality patient care, developing dental strategy, goals, and direction, and providing for the recruitment and retention of the dental hygiene staff within their assigned region. The ideal candidate will be a skilled Dental Hygienist with proven leadership abilities and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care and implementing technology, systems, and processes to deliver best in class dental hygiene care.

Summary/Objectives:

Strategic planning for growth and efficiency of the DCA dental hygiene program. Creating industry best in onboarding, training, and turnover to deliver to the patients we serve. Leadership over Divisional Hygiene Clinical Partners and in-office and regional trainers to improve clinical care and hygiene key performance indicators

Responsibilities

Principle Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions*):

  • Standardization of the hygiene compensation model

  • Delivery of strategic initiatives, and refinement of hygiene KPI's

  • Evaluate and recommend dental hygiene materials and/or technology to enhance the care DCA provides to our patients.

  • Responsible and accountable for departmental and enterprise wide budget aligned with strategic initiatives to deliver best in class hygiene tools, technology, processes, and services.

  • Develop and support efforts for team expansion in core areas to improve patient access, and profitability.

  • Establish and maintain effective communication throughout the enterprise, up to and including board of directors and executive leadership team

  • Coordinate and assist with the appropriate department(s) and/or person(s) to ensure dental hygienists requests and/or needs are met

  • Represent the organization at hygiene schools, conventions, vendor and client meetings

  • Analyze and control expenditures of the department to conform with budget requirements

  • Other duties may be assigned

Responsibilities:

Clinical & Operational Leadership

  • Provide clinical guidance and oversight to dental providers within your region.

  • Continuously monitor and enhance enterprise provider KPI's including provider production per day

  • Identify and assist in the implementation of new technology to enhance patient care and provider efficiency.

  • Communicate and drive implementation around enterprise clinical policies and procedures.

Strategic Planning

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance clinical quality and efficiency.

  • Identify opportunities for same-store growth and improving access to care

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Provider Recruitment, Retention, & Onboarding

  • Serve as occasional clinical advisor during the provider recruitment process.

  • Collaborate with operations to provide best-in-class provider onboarding experience.

Provider Coaching & Development

  • Identify specific areas for provider development in both clinical and leadership realms.

  • Holistically mentor and coach dental providers to encourage growth and limit burnout and job dissatisfaction.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all enterprise, federal, and state regulatory requirements and standards.

  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and update policies and procedures accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Dental Hygienist by training typically obtained through an accredited University or Technical Program

  • Military or other relevant experience will be considered

  • Active licensure as a Dental Hygienist not required, but is preferred

  • 5+ years of experience managing and leading a team, preferably across a multi-State region

  • Advanced knowledge of industry standards, technology, and leadership principles

  • Knowledge of P&L within the dental industry, specifically within the hygiene arena

The role operates within a professional environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
