Responsibilities

Vice Presidents in Industrials Group support new business development and investment banking engagements, including managing the execution of mergers and acquisitions transactions. They also develop expertise and build relationships with clients in one or more sectors within the Industrials coverage universe. You will be expected to:

  • Prepare, analyze, and explain historical and projected financial information;

  • Coordinate and perform detailed business due diligence

  • Execute M&A transactions, manage day-to-day process activities, and maintain strict deadlines;

  • Organize and prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations;

  • Value companies and maintain complex financial models;

  • Assist in the marketing and planning of engagements;

  • Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients, prospective clients and professional advisors

  • Effectively manage junior banking team members; and

  • Take an active role in team-building, recruiting, and training of team members

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have prior experience in mergers and acquisitions and related financial advisory, a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Four to seven years of postgraduate investment banking experience is required.

The role will support firmwide managerial reporting enhancements and will primarily focus on firmwide sales and revenue planning, revenue accountability across all business lines (regions and products), as well drive a proactive agenda to advance sales analytics and inform decision-making for key senior stakeholders. Responsibilities: * Play an active role in the development of firmwide managerial reporting framework and analytics suite. * Analyze trends in sales, revenues and other KPIs. Assist with business-level profitability metrics. * Work with broader FP&A and business partners to incorporate relevant budget and forecast assumptions in line with firm growth expectations and strategic priorities. * Develop detailed budget and forecast models and senior management presentations to drive high quality decision-making and closely monitor business performance * Analyze trends in specific businesses and across the firm and produce detailed reports for senior management highlighting key changes and actionable insights. Provide executive-level narrative in support of financial metrics and targets. * Proactively identify opportunities to optimize existing reporting and analytics * Lead projects independently and partner on projects and analyses with various internal stakeholders * Provide management oversight, coaching and guidance to team members, if applicable Skills & Qualifications: * BS/BA in Finance, Economics, Engineering or other quantitative discipline with record of strong achievement * MBA, CFA, CPA or other advanced degree or certification preferred but not required * At least 5 to 8 years of experience in the financial services sector and/or FP&A experience with a top-tier firm * Track record of strong performance with increasing levels of scope and responsibility * Exceptional Excel skills required; experience with IBM Cognos TM1 and/or VBA skills a plus * Strong organizational, planning, quantitative modeling and problem solving skills, * strategic and creative thinking * Ability to clearly articulate and present ideas both in written presentations and orally to senior stakeholders * Focused attention to detail and high standards for quality and accuracy in his/her work product * A desire to work in a high-energy environment with a dedicated commitment to excellence * Collaborative, team-oriented, service-oriented, solutions-oriented * Professional, positive demeanor and a strong work ethic About BlackRock BlackRock's purpose is to help more and more people experience financial well-being.
