Job Description

The Vice President of Content will oversee content-producing teams and lead multiplatform strategy, planning and execution for NBC Sports Philadelphia focusing on team coverage of the Phillies, Flyers, 76ers and Eagles. The position reports directly to the President and General Manager of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with network President and General Manager to drive the creation of content strategy and lead the team to execute across NBC Sports Philadelphia's multiple platforms

  • Develop, execute, and align multi-platform content strategies based upon current and emerging trends in the linear and digital programming space

  • Lead a fully integrated content-producing department that includes live events, studio programs, original content, programming, digital media, podcasting and social media

  • Communicate a unified vision, clear direction, and shared goals across all content-producing groups

  • Establish a close partnership with Sales to create unique opportunities and solutions for large national and local advertising clients

  • Prioritize monthly and weekly workflow to maximize revenue potential for ad sales team while minimizing operational costs

  • Annual budgeting, monthly forecasting and reporting of content and digital divisions

  • Utilize research, analytics, and industry trends to enhance engagement and retention across multiple platforms

  • Increase efficiency and productivity through operational integration and technical innovation

  • Develop and maintain close relationships with network content and revenue partners such as sports teams, advertisers, radio stations and other related businesses

  • Partner & engage with the RSN HQ Content team and leverage the provided resources, frameworks and guidance to drive consumption across multiple platforms

  • Grow, develop and coach all teams within content and digital divisions

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in linear, digital/social programming and content production, ideally in sports media

  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing a large team with demonstrated success

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong production experience including show and live event management and creation, ideally in a major market

  • Active engagement in the digital community with awareness of new trends in the development of OTT or DTC business models, ideally with sports content

  • Strong knowledge of linear and nonlinear viewing habits and media consumption patterns and great awareness of the latest trends in a changing media landscape

  • Creative mindset with strong knowledge of social web and content development

  • Strong leader and persuasive communicator with a vision; proven ability to self-motivate, work independently as well as collaboratively and motivate and inspire a team

  • Superior organizational and communication skills, exceptional ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communication, Business Management or other related field

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
