Today's fans consume media significantly differently than they did just a few years ago. And while traditional TV remains core to the media landscape, fans actually spend more time on digitally connected devices than they do on TV. And once there, they are doing different things, from sharing on social media to creating content of their own. This new reality creates an unprecedented opportunity for NFL Media to fulfill our objective of reaching as many fans as possible regardless of where they are, while growing the overall NFL business.
To support this objective, the NFL Media group is seeking a Vice President, Business Strategy & Operations to serve as the primary business partner to the executive leadership team of NFL Network and NFL Digital Media. This new leadership position is charged with partnering with business leaders to enhance the value of our media properties, including NFL Network, NFL Digital and our presence on Social Media platforms. Additionally, this executive position will be responsible for overseeing the long-term and annual strategic plan development in addition to managing a robust portfolio of strategic projects. Furthermore, this position will be responsible for managing business operations activities, including business management, media intelligence reporting, and digital contract administration.
Oversight of long-term and annual strategic planning process for NFL Network and NFL Digital content, product and operations teams, including ensuring a disciplined process to define, communicate, activate, and manage strategic initiatives that will drive achievement of short and long-term business goals.
Strong partnership with League Strategy and Finance leadership to ensure strategy development approach interfaces and aligns with League-wide priorities.
Serve as internal consultant for key business leaders in vetting strategic ideas, identifying growth opportunities, developing plans for key initiatives, and measure success/failure of existing initiatives.
Oversee global data, metrics, reporting and analytics for content consumption across key platforms such as NFL Media's owned and operated properties (e.g., NFL Network, NFL Films, NFL.com, NFL Mobile, NFL NOW and NFL Game Pass), digital properties that offer NFL Media content (e.g., Social Media and YouTube), and close coordination and alignment with the NFL's Consumer Insights & Research team (e.g., Nielsen for domestic television consumption and consumer research projects).
Deliver timely, thoughtful intelligence reports and analysis to key stakeholders, crafted with the sense of urgency required in a live events/live content business and with the executive audience in mind
Oversee market research or business model creation to support strategic opportunities under evaluation (market sizing, competitive analyses, SWOT analyses, etc.)
Work closely with programming, product, integrated sales, media sales, and business development departments to generate revenue growth.
Supervise internal team managing finance administration, contract administration, contract compliance, business continuity planning, audit and risk management.
