The Vice President, Business Development, Technology Partnerships will drive key partnerships with leading technology platform providers in the mortgage industry and support the sales process with technology consultation for our lender customers by negotiating, executing and managing the partnership relationships. This position will develop and enhance relationships with technology partners in order to support customers that are using mortgage industry technologies to interact with National MI across all aspects of the mortgage origination and servicing lifecycle. The Vice President will work closely with IT, Risk, Sales, Marketing and Customer Success teams and will initially report to the Executive VP of Operations and IT.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish relationships with LOS Vendors, PPE platforms and POS offerings, including understanding their strategy, key decision-makers, organizational structure technology solutions, roadmaps and go-to-market focus.
Understand the competitive landscape and identify strategic opportunities and threats.
Maintain pipeline of new partnership opportunities designed to drive relevance, reach and revenue for our platform.
Qualify, structure, negotiate, close, and manage strategic partnerships that will drive platform adoption, revenue, and customer acquisition.
Work with IT LOS team, marketing, sales teams and executive committee to evaluate, explore and execute strategic partnership opportunities.
Maintain active relationships with lenders' key connectivity partners reinforcing our leadership position in the market, proactively addressing business issues and identifying ways to maximize value for both parties.
Expand relationships with existing partners by uncovering expansion opportunities, developing and driving go-to-market strategies.
Bachelors in Computer Science, a related field or the equivalent work experience. MBA preferred.
Twelve or more years of experience working with mortgage LOS or PPE technology in a business development or product management capacity at a market leading company.
Minimum of seven year's direct experience with developing and maintaining mortgage industry relationships, especially with vendors, platforms and providers serving the mortgage industry.
Five year's previous experience managing a budget and analyzing actual spend versus projected spend.
Proven experience influencing and building relationships with people across all levels and organizations, internally and externally.
Extensive prior experience formulating a partnership vision, strategy, and execution plan that translates into measurable business results.
Technical ability to understand software and recognize areas of product integration, discuss product roadmaps, and engage with product managers.
Technically proficient with APIs, SaaS, XML.
Proven experience starting from scratch to develop, negotiate and structure complex partnerships.
Project management experience and expertise with productivity tools, such as Excel and PowerPoint.
Great at execution: results-driven, detail-oriented, organized self-starter.
Creative, critical and solution-first thinker with client service focus.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to speak effectively to business development leaders, executives, product managers and engineers.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
Proven ability to work under stressful conditions, such as business-related crises.
Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with a diverse team of business and IT staff.
This position requires 35% - 50% domestic travel.
