Vice President, Business Development

AVL Mobility Technologies, Inc. (MTI) in North America is searching for a Vice President, Business Development & Sales for the North America team. The VP opportunity is a key position and will require an individual who is driven and will thrive in a dynamic environment as a leader of the Business Development & Sales team as well as the entire Advanced Simulation Tools (AST) team of MTI.

This leadership position will focus on increasing sales and include direct management for both teams, in addition to strategic planning and execution, leadership, and growth. AVL MTI is searching for an individual to move into this position who has an engineering and sales background with extensive management, leadership, and growth experience; 10+ years' experience in sales and sales management. Candidates will possess direct experience in engineering services, product management, and sales for propulsion systems (ICE, BEV, FC), power electronics, ADAS, software, mechanical design, and simulation tools. The VP position will engage frequently with global affiliate organizations to develop and win new opportunities.

ROLES:

• Develop and execute the Sales and AST growth strategies and value creation in North America

• Lead the Business Development & Sales and AST teams

• Contribute to MTI business planning and execution as part of the MTI leadership team

• Assure the accuracy and adherence to data quality and processes for both teams

• Maintain budgets in alignment with the annual business plan for the teams

• Perform business development and sales activities for all technologies, solutions, and products of MTI

• Lead challenging customer negotiations and resolutions

• Drive year-over-year sales growth through innovation and leadership

• Conduct monthly business reviews with top leadership and track target vs. achieved performance for various KPIs

• Manage, hire, and train sales and support staff

• Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports

• Ensure effective and efficient use and maintenance of the AVL customer relationship management tools

• Cultivate executive level relationships at key and global accounts

• Work as part of MTI senior leadership and participate in various strategic and day-to-day management activities

• Participate in global management meetings

• Coordinate with MTI technical leadership to jointly develop and promote AVL capabilities and solutions to customers

• Full responsibility for AST P&L

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering

• MBA degree preferred

• 10+ years of experience in mobility supplier Business Development & Sales

• 7+ years of experience in Business Development & Sales management

• 10+ years of experience working in engineering services

• 5+ years of experience in mobility software product sales and management

• Proven track record of servant leadership, sales growth, and people management
