What You Will Do

  • The VP of ACO leads the development of overall vision, planning, budget, and management of the Ascension Texas Health Alliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides tactical leadership necessary to conceive and test innovative healthcare services and products which address unmet needs, challenge the status quo, and anticipate emerging trends and technologies.

  • Tracks local and national to maximize our success in current shared savings programs as well as identify new opportunities for growth.

  • Shares relevant emerging trends, challenges and opportunities. Fosters collaborative relationships with innovative partners across industries, functions, and geographies.

  • Partners to foster a culture of innovation and knowledge transfer throughout the organization.

  • Oversees operations, budget, financial targets, and human resources management of the ACO.

  • Leads overall strategy development and operations management, including quality management, clinical design, provider relations, credentialing, marketing and communications, and finance of the Clinical Integration program and Accountable Care Organization. Develops and manages the appropriate infrastructure to drive quality and financial outcomes in a costeffective manner

  • Visits and engages with CIN physicians in their practices and identifies ways that SACO can enhance its support and partnership with them.

  • Develops and oversees organizational provider engagement strategy to support hospital, employed physician and clinically integrated network physician relations.

  • Develop strategic physician engagement initiatives to support hospital, employed physician, and clinical integration business objectives, including network utilization, and referral development.

  • Directs contract administration of value-based population health payer contracts, including developing operating and management models, ensuring program compliance, monitoring financial and quality performance, developing physician networks, and overseeing member services, patient education, clinical program design, marketing and sales.

  • Oversees all aspects of physician contracting and network management, including contract negotiation, credentialing, performance management, and incentive compensation.

  • Builds and maintain effective relationships with external constituents including payers, employers and governmental organizations, and internal constituents including hospital, physician and joint venture leadership.

  • Plans for and participates in board meetings, including developing board agendas, board materials and presentations on strategic and operational updates.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Complexity of work:

  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
  • None Required obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. MD or DO licence preferred.


Work Experience:.

  • Five (5) years of senior level healthcare operations management experience required. 7+ years preferred.

  • Experience with managed care organizations, large organized physician groups, or integrated delivery systems is required upon date of hire or job transfer date.

  • Strong working knowledge of industry regulations including Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial HMOs and those covering ACO related organizations.

  • Demonstrated ability to make strategic decisions based on a thorough understanding of industry issues, trends and the regulatory landscape

  • Contract administration experience is preferred.

  • Experience with population health management strategy and operations is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage physicians and lead change

  • Experience in quality initiatives preferred.

  • Experience in team building and development.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (written/verbal) required.
