The Vice Chancellor for Human Resources reports to the Chancellor and serves as one of the senior-level administrative positions constituting the Chancellors Cabinet. The successful candidate will collaborate with the universitys senior leadership team, to develop strategy related to human capital management and leadership development.
The VC/HR will ensure alignment between the institutions strategic plan and human resource practices, through the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of university HR programs, including recruitment, compensation/position management, employee relations and affirmative action, benefits, workers compensation, professional development and training, performance management, HR information systems, staff communications, new employee orientation, and recognition programs. The VC/HR will create talent acquisition strategies to build strong pipelines for future hiring needs and help frame career development plans. While the Office of the Provost has sole responsibility for the appointment, promotion, and tenure of faculty, all other EHRA human resources functions reside within the Division of Human Resources.
It is important that the Vice Chancellor for Human Resources translate institutional priorities into a vision for human resource programs that are responsive to the Universitys needs. North Carolina A&T State University requires an earned master's degree in a related area, or an earned doctorate degree. Eight or more years of extensive successful administrative or management experience in a college, university or private industry setting. Demonstrated fiscal and human capital management expertise, and strategic planning are required strong communication, interpersonal, team building, and demonstrated leadership skills are needed to enhance human resource programs and policies, and an entrepreneurial approach to problem solving and program development are essential.
