  • VH-60 series aircraft.

  • A minimum of 2,000 flight hours and 1,000 first pilot hours in rotary wing aircraft.

  • Minimum of 1000 hours in model desired.

  • Past (required) or current (desired) designations as Helicopter Aircraft Commander, Functional Check Flight (FCF) pilot and pilot in command for Category C flight test are required.

  • Two years RDT&E flight experience required.

  • Current or previous designation as a VH-60N/Cockpit Upgrade Program (CUP) Helicopter Aircraft Commander desired.

  • Current or previous designations as NATOPS Instructor and Instrument Evaluation pilot are desired.

  • Experience conducting acceptance and certification testing of flight simulators is desired.

  • Night Vision Device (NVD)/Night Vision Goggle (NVG) qualification is desired.

  • Must be a graduate of the rotary wing flight mechanics curriculum from one of the following: U. S. Naval Test Pilot School, Empire Test Pilot School, EPNER Test Pilot School or meet the requirements for a TPS waiver in accordance with NAVAIRINST 3710.1 series.

  • Top Secret Clearance required.

Incumbent will plan and conduct experimental flight test in helicopters and tilt rotor aircraft, conduct other flight test operations as required, maintain flight currency as required, travel in support of Bell Helicopter flight operations as required. Incumbent will complete flight analysis, flight evaluations of aircraft, test planning and flight test reports as required. This position is located at the Bell facility in Pax River, Maryland. Responsibilities: * Involved in the planning and execution of engineering and experimental test flights of new aircraft and/or systems. * Evaluate and report on data gathered during test flights. * Demonstrate safe and efficient test planning and execution. * Interface well with the entire project team to ensure successful accomplishment of the test program. * Make recommendations as to operational effectiveness of systems, aircraft handling qualities and design improvements. Requirements: * Must be a graduate of an approved flight test school. * A minimum of an FAA commercial rotorcraft helicopter instrument rating. * Minimum of 2000 hours total time in rotary wing aircraft with not less than 1500 hours as pilot in command and possess a current FAA Class I or II medical certificate. * Minimum of 1000 hours V-22 flight time. * Three years experience in vertical lift flight test and systems development. * 100 hours of engineering or experimental flight test time. * Excellent communications skills with a demonstrated ability to work with flight test and maintenance personnel. * Be current or able to meet Naval Aviation Water Survival Physiology training requirements. * Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally in support of test programs. * Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance.
