Liquid Development's VFX artists primarily focus on real-time effects within UE4 and Unity. Some engagements require learning proprietary pipelines and tools that is built into the scope. You will work as a key member of our VFX team creating high quality visual effects for today's top titles. The studio is currently work-from-home friendly due to COVID-19 pandemic. We would eventually be looking for remote team members to possibly relocate to our lovely city of Portland once it is safe to do so.

Requirements

  • Strong work examples required
  • Experience with Maya, 3DSMax, Blender or Houdini
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical problems
  • A self-driven, positive attitude towards critique, and leaning from your mistakes

  • Experience creating effects in Unity/Unreal Engine
  • Shader creation a plus
  • Experience with a variety of visual styles

You will be working with an experienced team on a variety of triple-A titles bringing levels to life through environmental storytelling! The work will be done in Maya, Blender, Substance, UE4, Unity, and other proprietary engines. The studio is work-from-home friendly and has no problem accommodating remote work long-term, so don't be afraid to reach out if you are not in Oregon!<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><ul> <li>Adhere to a specific art style and address feedback given by the Art Director or Environment Lead</li> <li>Collaborate with other artists and world builders to create interesting and immersive environments</li> <li>Modeling environment geometry from simple level blockout to finished states</li> <li>UV map and paint custom texture sets or trim sheets for levels</li> <li>Polish up environments with detail objects, decals, VFX, and other set dressing elements</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Efficient communication skills</li> <li>Responsible time management skills</li> <li>Understanding of how the environment affects game play</li> <li>Knowledge of 3D applications such as Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, and zbrush</li> <li>Experience with a commercial game engine such as Unreal and Unity</li> <li>Experience within game development crafting playable environments</li> <li>A keen eye for level design, and the aesthetics for visual storytelling</li> <li>A strong interest in games and creating game environments</li> </ul><p><strong><strong>Preferences</strong></strong></p><ul> <li> Experience building props, both organic and hard surface</li> <li>Experience integrating assets into Unity / Unreal</li> <li>Experience with a variety of game engines</li> <li>Experience working collaboratively with a team</li> <li>Experience Kit bashing and building modular environments</li> <li>Good sense of scale and spatial awareness for a player POV</li> <li>Strong understanding of light, value, composition, color, staging, and detail in environmental design</li> </ul><p><br></p><p><strong>PLEASE SEND US YOUR RESUME AND REEL/PORTFOLIO.
