VRCC Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Hospital is a 24 hour emergency and specialty veterinary hospital located in Englewood, Colorado. We see patients from both a referral basis from general practice veterinarians, as well as directly from clients in need of specialty veterinary care for their pet. We specialize in Cardiology, Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Medical and Radiation Oncology, Ophthalmology, as well as orthopedic and soft tissue Surgery.
We are looking for a full time patient focused, detail oriented, and eager to learn Veterinary Technician to join our Medical Oncology team. As a new member of our Oncology team you will receive training in administering chemotherapy, CT imaging, various oncologic conditions and more! VRCC offers a network of DVMs and specialties to support your professional development.
Position Overview:
The Veterinary Technician supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. You will assist in conducting examinations, assisting and administering chemotherapy treatments, provide nursing care, and maintaining patient medical records.
What you'll do
Provide client education on proper home administration techniques, side effects, and the handling of animal waste products while on chemotherapy
Chemotherapy preparation and administration utilizing closed systems
Anesthesia/sedation for CT scans and biopsies
Venipuncture for blood draws and IV catheter placement
Client communication - relaying and discussing test results, counseling and education
Proper and thoughtful patient handling and positioning
Imaging - CT scanner operation, taking properly positioned radiographs and assisting with ultrasounds
Detailed medical records
Inventory maintenance
Who you are
Registered Veterinary Technician License Required
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Experience in oncology preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
At Least 2+ years in veterinary medicine
Outstanding attention to detail

$24-$30 USD
