IDEXX is hiring for a Veterinary Software Project Management Manager. The Manager manages activities within the Veterinary Software Delivery Project Management Team. Responsible for directing staff (including a mix of supervisory levels), assigning and balancing employee work, evaluates and manages team to meet or exceed desired business results.

Contributes to development of unit/group/area/program operating policies and procedures with a focus on continuous process improvement that ensure highest level of customer experience with software delivery. Inspires professional development of individuals under direct reporting lines and mentors' performance of team as needed beyond reporting lines.

This role will include oversight of our full enterprise project delivery workstream and non-Corporate account portfolio moving bookings to placements while maintaining a series of shared leadership KPIs across our product portfolio.

Role will have approximately 10-15 direct reports with an annual delivery volume of approximately 1,500+ projects across 22 products.

In the role of Veterinary Software Project Management Manager:

  • You will manage staff and/or supervisors, assigning work, monitoring activities, and evaluating performance. Manages escalated/critical issues. Administers employment actions, provides coaching and guidance to staff, and promotes staff training and development. Supports the development of unit/group/area/function/program budget, policies, and procedures. May coordinate work of outside vendors and contractors.

  • You will lead work activities of the business unit/group/area/function/program, planning and organizing work, providing for adequate staffing and resources, and maintaining work on schedule so that ongoing customer satisfaction is maintained.

  • You will identify and implement strategies and efficiencies to enhance customer experience and align with business operations.

  • You will communicate with other related departments to coordinate work and resolve issues as needed. Provides internal and/or external customer feedback and leads/participates in teams related to new or ongoing project work and other areas as needed.

  • You will lead/contribute to process/other improvements based on evaluation of existing procedures and business needs. Utilize data, metrics, and system tools to ensure efficiency and to maximize customer experience. Identifies problems, obstacles and opportunities and proactively acts to address issues. Strives for continuous improvement.

  • You will prepare reports and other information summarizing work activities and reports results to peer groups as well as senior management. Prepares various analyses as needed to highlight issues and resolve questions.

What It Takes to Succeed:

  • You will possess management skills and ability.

  • You will have the ability to organize, prioritize and direct work activities.

  • You will have 5+ years' experience with the operations of Project Management within the software delivery space strongly preferred but not required.

  • You will possess general business knowledge required, including specific knowledge of businesses supported.

  • You will possess excellent customer service and business relationship-building skills required.

  • You will possess reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills to resolve issues.

  • You will have experience in project management skills and abilities.

  • You will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • You will have exceptional expereince with personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

  • You will Manage typically moderate-size and/or complexity team(s).

  • You have experience being accountable for the performance and results of a team(s) within own discipline or function.

  • In some instances, may be responsible for function/program without subordinate supervisors/staff.

  • You will adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.

  • Objectives for assigned unit/group/area/function/program defined by upper management.

  • Latitude to make decisions to achieve defined goals.

  • Failure to achieve objectives will have significant impact on unit and the organization.

  • Resolves issues and contributes to unit/group/area/function/program development.

  • Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from manager. Makes decisions based on unit objectives, as well as company policies and procedures.

  • You will address issues with impact beyond own team based on knowledge of related disciplines.

  • Typically, in-depth experience in area managed, 3-5+ years' supervisory experience.
