Veterinary Medical Director - Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers

Fetch is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Medical Director to lead our team of dedicated veterinary professionals. As the Veterinary Medical Director, you will be responsible for providing oversight and guidance to ensure the highest level of medical care is delivered to our patients and exceptional service is provided to our clients.

The Medical Director role is a hybrid position with 50% clinical and 50% administrative duties. They will be responsible for overseeing the medical operations within the hospital, serve as a mentor to staff, and lead the advancement of high quality patient care and client services.  The candidate will serve as the immediate supervisor of the associate veterinary staff.  The Medical Director will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer, COO, CEO, and hospital management team to optimize the medical practice and flow, help evolve the ideas and policies for sustainability and support the team members in their goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to the veterinary staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Ensure the medical team adheres to high standards of veterinary care, establishing protocols and guidelines as necessary
  • Oversee and manage the medical operations, training, mentoring, and development of veterinary team members
  • Collaborate with other department heads and administrators to develop and implement practice-wide policies and protocols
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with referring veterinarians and other industry professionals
  • Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and contribute to the continuous improvement of medical practices
  • Provide medical care to patients when necessary and assist with complex cases
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and licensing requirements
  • Manage and resolve guest concerns and complaints
  • Participate in the recruitment and hiring process of the veterinary team

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
  • Active veterinary license in the State of Florida
  • Board Certification or eligibility in the candidate's veterinary field
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience
  • Prior leadership or management experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in all aspects of veterinary medicine
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to effectively lead and inspire a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality medical care
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
