Colorado Animal Specialty & Emergency (CASE)in Boulder is seeking a Board-certified Internist to join our established team of veterinary specialists.

In the summer of 2021, we moved into a 35,000-square-foot hospital. This state-of-the-art facility has on-site CT, MRI, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, hemodialysis, a fully equipped lab, and a Linear Accelerator.

Enjoy collaboration with our other certified specialists in Internal Medicine, Oncology, Critical Care, Surgery, Neurology, Radiology, and Rehabilitation. We have a strong Emergency Service as well as rotating and specialty internships.

VIEW JOBS 12/2/2022 12:00:00 AM 2023-03-02T00:00 <p>Job Description</p><p>Job Description- CVT Pain Management &amp; Physical Rehabilitation</p><ul><li><p>Highly self-motivated &amp; independent</p></li><li><p>Proficient in medical terminology &amp; proper history taking as well as talking with clients on the phones &amp; answering emails appropriately/professionally</p></li><li><p>Ability to be flexible (with schedule &amp; with role of the day within the department)</p></li><li><p>Able to assist with research/clinical trials (advanced diagnostics, sedated radiographs + bloodwork, rechecks, phone calls)</p></li><li><p>Submit &amp; run in house bloodwork including CBC and chemistry panels</p></li><li><p>Submit orders for radiographs &amp; ensure the radiographs get attached correctly into patient file</p></li><li><p>Proficient in restraint &amp; positioning during orthopedic radiographs (sedated &amp; non-sedated patients)</p></li><li><p>Proficient in medical math when creating anesthetic protocols</p></li><li><p>Set up for common joint injections &amp; PRP and clean procedure area after injections</p></li><li><p>Proficient in setting up for an anesthetic event (including proper set up &amp; pressure check of anesthesia machine, etc), placing IVC, intubation, monitoring equipment, etc</p></li><li><p>Proficient in attaching patients to anesthesia monitoring equipment &amp; running anesthetic events while recording values on SmartFlow during procedures (as well as being able to treat any abnormalities seen)</p></li><li><p>Shave &amp; sterilely prep for common injections (+ hold limb for DVM if necessary)</p></li><li><p>Proficiency in recovering patient after anesthetic procedure</p></li><li><p>Comfortability going over patient discharges with owner</p></li><li><p>Proficient in running a room: creating a proper history, gathering pertinent information from owner (including medications &amp; doses) &amp; presenting information to doctor</p></li><li><p>Assist with advanced diagnostics ran at initial consult &amp; recheck appointments when applicable</p></li><li><p>Run in-hospital post-operative integrative care appointments: cold compression &amp; laser therapy to patients as they come out of the OR</p></li><li><p>Willing to learn or have basic knowledge of rehabilitation treatments: laser therapy, underwater treadmill, therapeutic exercises, acupuncture, cold compression &amp; cryotherapy</p></li><li><p>Be able to run rehab appointments including: underwater treadmill, laser, &amp; therapeutic exercises and to monitor acupuncture patients after needles placed</p></li><li><p>Wipe down laser &amp; underwater treadmill after each use &amp; daily before leaving</p></li><li><p>Test water chemical levels for underwater treadmill &amp; assist with daily/weekly/monthly cleaning</p></li></ul><p>&amp; maintenance as needed</p><ul><li><p>Assist with vacuuming/mopping treatment area &amp; exam room in between patients, cleaning foam tiles as needed &amp; doing rehab laundry</p></li><li><p>Help order &amp; maintain rehab inventory + stock pain management area in Procedures Room</p></li><li><p>Check department voicemails, get records/radiographs from rDVMs, schedule new appointments (+ take deposits for appointments), &amp; answer department specific emails (or direct to doctor)</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of basic anatomy &amp; physiology and canine physical rehabilitation a plus</p></li></ul><p>Pay Range: $24/hr-$28/hr</p><p>We value diversity and inclusion; every person has a unique voice and perspective to bring to the CASE team.
