Friendship Hospital For Animals is looking for a Coordinator to join our Internal Medicine team.
The Internal Medicine coordinator helps to facilitate both internal and external referrals to the service. They must have an intense focus on providing a high level of client service to both our clients and our referring veterinarians. They must be knowledgeable about the purpose of why clients should pursue consultation with an Internist, as well as, have an in-depth knowledge of the procedures performed. They need to work closely with the Internal Medicine technicians to ensure the schedule moves efficiently. They will need a basic level of cross-training as a technical assistant so that they can help out as needed.

What You Will Be Doing (Core Responsibilities)
Schedule appointments
Monitor voicemail boxes
Generate and send referral letters
Comfortable relaying information from the veterinarian to the client
Knowledgeable about commonly diagnosed medical conditions and their treatments
Knowledgeable about various medical tests and what they entail
Process incoming medical record documents
Ensuring that referring veterinarians receive return communication promptly
Communication with the rest of the FHA staff about schedules, protocols, etc.
Assist in the development of procedures to help improve the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of the communication coming out the IMED service.
Ability to generate accurate estimates
Assist clients with setting up additional referrals, acquiring special medications, or any other situation
What You Have (Skills, and Abilities)
Excellent communication skills-- both verbal and written
Ability to multi-task in a stressful environment
Ability to speak and hear by phone or in person
Ability to read, write and type English
Ability to work as a team player
Ability to use and learn computers
Ability to master large volumes of detailed information
Experience in a veterinary hospital setting required
Experience in veterinary internal medicine preferred but not required
Basic Veterinary Assistant or safe animal handling experience required
$23 - $26 an hour
compensation is negotiable and based on skills and experience
