Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate individual to join our team as a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional customer service and support to our clients and their beloved pets. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians and technicians in providing care, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.
Responsibilities:
Greet clients warmly and provide them with a positive first impression of our clinic
Schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and respond to client inquiries promptly and courteously
Input data to practice management software. Become familiar with retail products, medications, vaccinations, routine testing, and heartworm and flea preventatives, ability to confidently discuss with clients.
Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries
Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the clinic
Handle patient admissions, discharges, and medical records with accuracy and attention to detail
Provide compassionate care and comfort to patients and their owners
Contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting preferred, but not required
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; a positive attitude is a must
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately
Comfortable handling animals of various sizes and temperaments
Basic knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
Proficient computer skills and experience with veterinary software systems (specifically impromed) is advantageous
Flexibility to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Pay: This is an hourly position ranging from $16/hour to $20/hour depending on skill/experience
