VCA-Colonial Animal Hospital is an established 24-hour specialty/hybrid veterinary hospital located in beautiful upstate NY. As a Veterinary Assistant in our treatment room, you will be working alongside experienced general practice and specialty veterinarians and skilled technicians, with the opportunity to learn and grow. In your role as a treatment assistant you will help with providing individualized patient care to our hospitalized patients. You will assist in the development of treatment plans, client communications, discharges, tech appointments, radiology, lab, assist with patient care, and case management. You will learn and grow with our team and the diverse caseload that we see each day.

The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Cornell is seeking an enthusiastic and committed leader for the Assistant Director of Student Services position, who will foster a supportive and vibrant student-centered environment for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students. This position will engage with a diverse and close-knit community of DVM students, faculty and staff to provide support and problem-solving to meet the students' non-academic needs. What you will do: You will work with the Assistant Dean for Veterinary Student Services and Admissions and other offices to implement programming and identify opportunities to increase impact and ensure student success. As an integral member of the Office of Student and Academic Services, you will: Student Support and Programming * Assist students in various areas such as accessing appropriate resources on campus, securing approval for disability accommodations, and obtaining veterinary state licensures, and onboarding transfer students and in the larger community as needed to resolve problems. * Collaborate with the Wellbeing Program Director, Student Success Center staff, Office of OAIE, and other appropriate offices at the College and across campus to offer programs, activities, and workshops designed to support and enhance DVM student life. * Support faculty advisors and peer mentors in their roles. * Document student interaction via sales force and highlight trends and provide routine analysis of data, and offer input to inform practices and services. * Document Standard Operating Procedures for administrative protocols involving the Student * Services Office and support implementation of the protocols. Event Management * Manage several student-focused college-level events that are top-quality but within a limited budget, such as White Coat, Open House, Career Connections, Parents weekend, information sessions, new student orientation, and all activities during commencement week. * Work with Alumni Affairs and Development, Marketing and Communication, and the Office of the Dean to ensure all constituents are optimally engaged. * Develop and coordinate event budgets and communication regarding event details and logistics to participants and audiences in a timely manner. Student Organization Management * Develop and maintain CVM-wide procedures regarding student club standards and responsibilities, and provide overall leadership to student clubs and activities. * Work with student leadership and Office of Alumni Affairs and Development to make funding recommendations for student club initiatives. Other duties * Provide direct supervision and regular feedback for 2-3 administrative assistants and promote a culture that encourages top performance and high morale. * Manage workflow and front office coverage and develop tools and documentation of office functions * Moderate DVM Student and Academic Services website content Due to the nature of the role, some evenings and weekends will be required. This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Veterinary Student Services and Admissions. What you have: * Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years experience in student affairs or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Demonstrated initiative and commitment to approaching work with cultural humility and empathy for all individuals. * Experience in event planning and student programming * Ability to form effective collaborations with multiple stakeholders and partners * Strong written and oral communication skills * Ability to set a positive tone and cultivate an inclusive environment * A high degree of professionalism, diplomacy, and excellent judgment in complex situations * Ability to work independently without direct supervision and to make sound judgment calls when necessary, and relay information consistently and clearly. * Commitment to actively engage with a team to support and champion the needs of students. * Ability to protect and safeguard sensitive or confidential information If you have all those things, great!
