Veterinary Assistant

Stoneledge Animal Hospital is looking for an experienced veterinary assistant to care for our furry, feathered, and scaly patients. We are located in Westbrook, ME about 16 minutes north from busy Portland and 45 minutes south of the mountains and lakes. We are a busy four doctor practice that is looking to add to our team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collecting urine samples

• Administering medications

• Walking, feeding, and picking up after the animals

• Various housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, taking out garbage etc.)

• Creating a dosing schedule from the DVM orders

• Taking Radiographs

• Restraining animals

• Outpatient procedures

• Filling prescribed medications

• Executing treatment orders

• Keeping cages clean and sanitized

• Communicating with clients via phone and in-person

Requirements:

• Must be a team player and have compassion for pets and their people

• Ability to multi-task

• Ability to lift 50 pounds

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous experience working as a Veterinary Assistant is preferred but not required
