Skills and Basic Qualifications
Experience working as a Veterinary Assistant. Preferably over one year.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
High standard customer service and answering phones to assist clients with their needs as well as working as CSR to support staffing levels when needed.
Ability to effectively handle and control aggressive animals.
Must be able to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in a veterinary clinic environment, including assisting in euthanasia.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and/or assist in lifting over 50 pounds.
Walking or standing for long periods of time and frequently works in a squatting or bending position.
Restrain animals during blood draws and procedures.
Anesthesia monitoring and surgery experience. We can provide training.
Experience with dental cleanings and radiographs. We can provide training.
Maintain and sterilize equipment and surgical instruments.
Administering medications under veterinarian and tech supervision.
Clean and disinfecting cages, exam rooms, and hospital areas.
Aiding with routing diagnostics, such as taking radiographs, running blood work, reading fecals.
Models a professional and courteous manner with staff and clients.
Commitment to ongoing educational development and growth.
Must have active listening, attention to details, critical thinking, complex problem solving, time management, judgment and decision making skills.
Must have basic computer/office skills, which include typing on a keyboard, attaching documents, scanning records, reading records.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Compensation depends on the level of experience and your skill set.
Background and drug screening required.

Pay: $15.50 - $17.50 per hour
