VCA Tri-City is a small practice that has been providing care for over 20 years to Placentia, Anaheim, and Fullerton. We are looking to build and grow a cohesive team that can continue to provide top quality care to our loyal clients and their beloved pets. We have a high focus on work-life balance and come together when a team member is in need of support regardless of their position in the hospital.
Pay: $25-$28/hr depending on experience
Primary Job Responsibilities
Serve as role model for behavior and attitude on the floor
Serve as go-to leader if a technician calls out sick or needs emergency leave
Work and communicate directly with the Hospital Manager concerning personnel matters, training concerns, etc.
Help DVM on duty mediate interpersonal matters and address minor concerns from technician team
Ensure OSHA and DEA regulations and protocols are followed by all technicians and assistants in their department/on their shift
Maintain accurate medical records and observations
Compassionately handle anxious or fearful patients
Support and assist Veterinarians and all hospital team members through high-quality care of patients, cleaning of facilities, client communication and education.
Qualifications
One or more years of Leadership experience as a Veterinary Technician/Assistant
3 or more years practice experience in veterinary hospital setting
Ability to train and motivate team members
Knowledge of medical equipment and emergency protocols
Able to work well independently as well as part of a team
Highly motivated, enthusiastic, self-starter with a professional and positive attitude
Ability to thrive in a steady and often fast paced environment
Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues and pet parents
Proven ability to keep accurate patient records
Strong ability to problem-solve
