Veterinary Assistant for Mobile Veterinary Clinics

If that's you, Welcome to Vetco! Vetco is a veterinary service organization operating clinics in Petco stores nationwide. At Vetco, providing great veterinary service to pet parents and their 4-legged best friends is the #1 goal.

As a Vetco Veterinary Assistant, you will meet your veterinary team at our local dispatch office, then travel to your assigned Petco clinic locations for the day. At the clinics, your team of veterinary assistants will greet the pet parents and recommend the veterinary services that will best protect their pets. The Veterinary Assistant will assist the Veterinarian so the services can be administered and thank the pet parent for protecting their pet!

Additional Qualifications include (Veterinary Technician-Veterinary Assistant- Customer Service- Cashier)

  • Must be able to work weekends Saturday and Sunday

  • Veterinary experience a plus, but we will train

  • Must be at least 21, Valid Driver's License and have a Clean driving record

  • Able to lift dogs and equipment of up to 50lbs (with assistance)

Primary Responsibilities: * Research, retrieve, design, troubleshoot, and deliver organized analytics regarding healthcare, capitation, accounts receivable, utilization data, claims data, and financial accounting data * Subject Matter Expert as it relates to healthcare capitation, accounts receivable, utilization, claims, and financial accounting data * Analyzes and extracts data from the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to report to internal and external customers * Serves as a key liaison between operations and finance teams by providing data / analytical support, mentoring, guidance, and technical expertise * Designs, develops, tests, documents, and maintains database queries for ad hoc reporting used in complex conceptual analyses * Develops systematic reporting processes and procedures to ensure timely delivery of weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reporting to management * Manages reporting and analysis elements on all business initiative projects * Recommends and implements new or modified reporting methods and procedures to improve report content and completeness of information * Analyzes benchmarking data, reports, processes, and measurements for key managed care indicators to recognize trends and assist in developing forecasts and financial planning * Develops innovative approaches to achieve deliverables and increase efficiencies * Functions as a team lead; Oversees the work of others within designated teams * Functions in a consultative capacity to explain complex healthcare costs trends and identify cost saving opportunities to other team members that interface with physicians * Performs all other related duties as assigned Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field (4 additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree) * 3 years of general healthcare data analysis experience * 2 years of experience in a reporting and analytical role * Ability to travel up to 75% within assigned markets * Understanding of the complexity of Member healthcare and claims * Proficient in SQL, SQL Reporting Services, MS Access, MS Excel, and/or equivalent data capture/reporting tools Preferred Qualifications: * 3 years of experience in a clinical setting Careers with WellMed.
