The Los Rios Community College District (LRCCD) is the second largest, two-year public college district in California, serving approximately 75,000 students in the greater Sacramento region. Position Summary

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary part-time faculty teaching assignments. These positions are filled on an as needed basis and are on-going recruitment efforts.

Adjunct pools are open continuously and applicants are contacted/hired year round for assignments based on college needs.

Teaching assignments may include day, evening, on-line, hybrid, weekend, and/or off campus classes.

Assignment Responsibilities

General Responsibilities:

The adjunct faculty member shall be responsible for the following: teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in his/her regular teaching field; continuing professional development; utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position; assisting with articulation and curriculum development and review; serving on college committees and participating in faculty governance including accreditation and student co-curricular activities; assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean; fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of an adjunct faculty member as outlined in the college faculty handbook.

1.Have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degree.
2.Hold a current California state license to practice veterinary medicine.
2.Have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles.

Principal Accountabilities * Implements radiation protection and safety standards to minimize radiation exposure to staff and patients. * Maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. * Maintains mandated continuing education requirements. * May be required to train / precept students and new techs. * Operates a variety of complex stationary diagnostic equipment. * Orders, prepares, administers, and disposes radiopharmaceuticals and/or agents according to established protocols. * Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately. This is a limited-term position with an anticipated duration of approximately six months. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Education, including Licensure, Certification, Registration * Graduate of a JRCERT accredited program in Nuclear Medicine Technology. * Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB); Or, ARRT Registered Technologist, R.T.(N)in good standing; Or, eligible to take the Nuclear Medicine registration exam. * BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification required. * CA State Licensure (CNMT) is required. Knowledge: * Complete understanding of Nuclear Medicine methodology, equipment and radiopharmaceuticals is necessary. * Also, needs knowledge of radiation safety principles, hazardous materials management and infection control guidelines. Experience * Must have previous experience as a nuclear medicine technologist in a hospital environment.
