As a PetIQ veterinarian at one of our new Cost Plus wellness centers, you will have the unique opportunity to develop a client base and leave your personal mark on a brand new facility in your community! You will have the autonomy to practice veterinary medicine the way you see fit to align with PetIQ's standards. You will have the opportunity to guide your support staff to best support your needs and the needs of your wellness center. We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate veterinarian to work full-time or part-time at our Cumming, GA Wellness Center, Tuesday - Saturday.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical examinations and blood testing; administer vaccinations, nail trims and microchips

  • Consult pet owners on nutrition, preventive healthcare and general care

  • Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records

  • Provide mentorship to veterinary support team by communicating PetIQ medical standards, ethical practices, and your knowledge and experience

  • Continuously strengthen and build the PetIQ brand

  • Attend monthly staff training meetings

  • Other duties or functions as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
  • GA State license to practice in the profession

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of vaccine protocols, intestinal parasites prevention and heartworm prevention, heartworm disease in both cats and dogs, heartworm and flea preventives, and prescription products

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent customer service skills, ensuring accurate and reliable work product

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

  • Creative, flexible and innovative thinker; management skills to mentor team

Education Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school
  • GA State license to practice in the profession

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
