We're an independently owned emergency practice, within a larger specialty hospital; we have recently transitioned to a full 24/7 practice and are in need of additional full and / or part-time associate veterinarians. Ideal candidates will be internship-trained, enthusiastic, and motivated to support our rapidly growing caseload.


Based in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado (http://www.choosecoloradosprings.com), AERC resides within the Veterinary Specialty Center (VSC), a 24-hour small animal specialty hospital fully equipped with endoscopy, bronchoscopy, digital radiology, multiple surgical suites with ventilators, ultrasound, and CT scan. We maintain state-of-the-art veterinary equipment and laboratory, with blood chemistry, full differential CBC, coagulation profile, blood gas analyzers, and Sedivue urinalysis machine, sevoflurane anesthesia, telemetry and patient monitors (ECG, temperature, capnography, pulse oximetry, oscillometric, and direct arterial blood pressure), and therapeutic laser. The caseload is diverse with the emergency department seeing over 8,000 cases annually. AERC's emergency doctors practice progressive medicine, with ready access to VSC's board certified veterinary specialists.


Our full-time schedule consists of 12-15 shifts per month, varying between day, swing, and over-nights, with rotating weekends and holidays. We strive to provide balance for our entire team and attempt to accommodate all reasonable schedule requests.

Requirements

Required Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD)

Required Licenses: State Veterinary Board required prior to start date.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level. Minimum Experience: 6 months nursing experience. ACLS, ENPC or PALS on hire; TNCC within 1 year * BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
