Join Vetco a division of Petco Animal Supplies Inc. We are looking for relief veterinarians and independent contractors who are interested in providing preventative care services for healthy dogs and cats in Florence, South Carolina

Appointment based model

Wellness and preventative care only No surgeries, no anesthesia.

Trained paraprofessional support veterinary technicians on site to handle restraint and logistics helping you to just focus on the pet.

  • PPE required for staff and safety measures in place for all Petco stores. Customers wear masks as well. Extra cleaning sanitizing of all stores.

Contract /Part time work

  • Flexible schedule pick and choose your shift

Job Requirements Include:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing

  • Knowledge of vaccine protocols, heartworm and intestinal parasite diseases and parasite prevention products

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • We have expanded clinic hours at fewer locations. Additional locations are being added to the schedule often as states and governments reduce restrictions.

  • Vetco team members and doctors will wear PPE.

  • Increased cleaning and sanitizing in all our stores.

  • The Petco Partner Assistance Fund is in place to help our associates and encourage them to stay home if they are feeling ill without fear of reprisal.

The role implements clinical programs and initiatives that differentiate the MDS product portfolio based on improved clinical outcomes and process enhancements which may result in a lower cost-in-use. The expertise and credentials of the Clinical Specialist enhances the credibility of recommendations to customers and strengthens customer service and support. This support to customers is achieved through recommending best practice and facilitating education. The Clinical Specialist actively engages in conversion management, product implementation and training of Medication Delivery Solutions products. The Clinical Specialist reports directly to a Clinical Manager. Job Description Responsibilities: As directed by the Clinical Manager, the Clinical Specialist role will be focused on, but not exclusively limited to, the activities outlined below: Must possess a strong understanding and knowledge of Oncology, chemotherapy administration, and care of vascular access devices Performance: * Manages their responsibilities within the allotted T&E expense budget * Provides updates monthly to the Clinical Manager on regional training activities and support provided in region (CE courses, Assessments, Implementations, Customer Meetings, etc.) per activities delineated in the Individual Impact Goals * Facilitates customer training classes in support of conversion or retention for key customers * Collaborates with the Regional Team to clinically support customer engagements from pre-sale through post-conversion * Develops strong, working relationships with end- users while providing product in-servicing and clinical education. * Provides routine follow-up support to customers at end-user locations as needed. * Conducts regional training for contractual nursing support as needed * Works with CM and RBM to ensure scheduling and activities produce the greatest ROI * Assists in conducting VAM assessments supporting Oncology Vascular Care. People/Process: * Aids sales personnel by building strong, working relationships with end users during product in-servicing and clinical education programs. * Works in concert with the Regional Team to ensure the sales and conversion management process is clinically effective throughout the timeline of pre-validation to retention * Establishes excellent rapport with TMs, RBM and CM. Works collaboratively with Region. * Collaborates with the Sales Team in key account management strategy sessions * Provides clinical support, training and education for Regional Team members as needed * Shares best practices with the Business, Territory Managers, ATMs, Regional Business Managers, Strategic Customer Group, Area VPs and their counterparts as they continue to enhance MDS programs and processes * Provides training activities that help increase the clinical acumen for new hires as well as tenured Territory Managers * Manages the On-call Specialist (OCS) schedule to include coordination of team meetings for consistency of message and briefing of issues * Has responsibility for managing the Regional Team of per diem nurses at the account level to ensure the provision of the highest level of training to our customers * Trains and mentors contract nursing staff to consistently help build their clinical acumen, while identifying high potential nurses within this group to be considered for the role of Clinical Specialist * Works primarily in a geographically defined territory; however, based on account clinical needs, could assist outside of the region Position Requirements: * Registered Nurse with a Bachelor's degree (BSN is preferred) * Good relationship development skills * Strong communicator with effective verbal and written skills * Proven training skills to conduct educational courses * Persuasive and credible; able to influence without authority * Deals well with ambiguity * Possesses strong understanding and knowledge of Oncology, chemotherapy administration, and care of vascular access devices as well as key disease states served by MDS products * Provides sales and customer product support for existing and prospective customers * Collaborates with customers and internal staff to develop clinical materials as needed * Follows corporate and divisional regulatory policies and approval matrices when creating and delivering educational material * Assists with training and orientation of new staff * Travels as needed to conduct initial and ongoing training to maintain accounts in designated region and as assigned * Communicates professionally by telephone, e-mail and on-site with internal and external customers * Collaborates with business units through the Clinical Manager to develop and revise marketing materials * Interacts with customer committees as requested (i.e. product, safety, infection control, policy committees) * Participates in trade shows to promote the company's product lines * Networks and participates in local, state and national chapter affiliations (i.e. INS,ONS) * Reports complaints regarding the company's products and service per BD's company policy * Works in a safety-conscious manner ensuring that safe work practices are utilized * Complies with company policies and procedures * Adheres to policy on drug-free workplace * Maintains confidential information including proprietary information * Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license and meet BD's auto safety standards Job Qualifications and Competencies: * Maintains license as a Registered nurse in good standing with the Board of Nursing * Five (5) years of general clinical experience, including three (3) years' experience with nursing related to a MDS product. * National certification recommended * Ability to travel up to 70% of the time.
